I have one of these and love it. This is my 3rd summer riding it.

It's a good choice if you're able to get one.

It rides smooth and it's pretty good at getting me at a consistent 20 mph. On my old Trek I could go at about 15 mph. You'll like the difference.

Carbon frame, I wasn't sure how I'd like the 2x11 Shimano drivetrain at first but now I love it.

Great bike.

The 3 Grand Tours are on, but postponed. TdF is end of August through mid-September (8/29-9/20), Giro is mid-October (3-25), and the Vuelta is late Oct-early Nov (10/20-11/8).

Nice looking kids bike. Looks like it has front/rear handbrakes which is safer then the old coaster-brake. I remember as a kid if you dropped a chain while riding a coaster-brake bike you were in for a wild ride!

front/rear handbrakes and coaster-brake. :)
250 euros but still only 3 speeds.
I looked in last week because I was in the area and this bike wasn’t there so it was stocked new since then and is down to only two left.
There was only two other options but our daughter loves this one and we concurred.
People been buying bikes like hotcakes.
I bet tomorrow when we pick it up even the showroom bike will be gone.

In May, I did four (4) Metric Centuries, one each week starting on the 8th. Did these on a Rail Trail riding a hybred bike.

Going to continue into the summer a weekly long ride. Most will be Metric Centuries, this week if the weather is ok will extend it 16 miles for 78 miles total. In July, I plan on doing a full century on this trail using the same bike.

I also expect to be doing a full century on a road bike the traditional way. Don’t have a date yet.

'The new toilet paper:' Bikes are flying off shelves, overwhelming shops
Washington, DC (CNN)Eric Attayi, owner of the Urban Bicycle Gallery in Houston, Texas, has watched the pandemic transform his shop in a way most businesses can only dream of.

Bicycles are selling before he has time to assemble them for display. Attayi said he'd matched his 2019 sales by the start of May. He's had to hire new employees to meet demand, and hasn't taken a day off since February. Attayi said he'd given raises and started buying lunch for his stressed staff.

I would like to buy a good women’s bike, but so many of the US ones have thos strange feature! I want to know why...

The tube on the body of the bike into which the tube holding the seat goes ends around the level of the tire.

Here is a link to a picture as I don’t know how to get the picture in the post:

http://www.bikesdirect.com/products/dawes/images/wendy_blue_2100.jpg

See how this mens bike has that part higher?

I have longish legs and I feel like that tube situation would make the seat less stable.

So why do they do that?

I want one more like this:

(But with gears—it’s hilly here!)

Did you know that the bicycle is a 200-year-old invention? The earliest known version was called the "running machine" and it lacked pedals? Naturally, its design underwent changes and today, despite the invention of faster, more modern vehicles of transport, the humble bicycle is still popular. On World Bicycle Day, we look at some of the cool accessories for your two-wheeler...

Just started riding a few times a week at 77. I bought a Fuji Mountain Bike and I like it. The only issue I have is my butt being sore while riding. I guess with time everything will work out. just sayin’

Nice. Sounds like a perfect for a young kid. Those internal hub shifters are rock solid and pretty well sealed, so they don't need really any maintenance.

True plus 3 speeds is good for the park.
My own bicycle has 8.
I can’t deal with 21, just not necessary for me.

I took a look and was happy to quickly find a picture of the gel seat I first got for my old bike.
I hope you can see how much better it is the the normal (hard seat):

(But with gears—it’s hilly here!)

There are all manners of bike frame geometries. With any reputable bike manufacturer, you don’t need to worry about the stability of the frame, or if the seat-tube on one bike is shorter or longer than another brand. The key is that the bike is comfortable for *you*, and the very best way to check that is with a bike test ride at any decent local bike shop. Even a short ride around the block will reveal for you if a bike feels “right”.

Bikes are typically sold in several sizes (small, med, large, ex lg), but again there is no uniformity across different makes. A “medium” bike from one manufacturer may be equivalent to a “large” from another.

One key adjustable element on all bikes is the seat post. Again, depending on how the post is engineered, you can extend it more or less. In some cases, it is pretty amazing just how much seat post can be exposed above the top of the seat tube (where the clamping mechanism for the seat post sits). However, something to be very watchful of is the so-called minimum insertion point on any seat post. It is the *minimal* length of seat post that must be inserted into the bike frame to make the seat post safe. Seatposts all have a line or painted line on the post with the minimal-insertion-point marked out. Riding a bike with the seat post extended beyond this point could cause the seat post to snap.

Regarding the style of bike you’re interested in, that looks like a commuter bike or city bike and you can most definitely find bikes with that traditional layout, with upright handlebars, with multiple gears. Again, your very best bet is finding a local bike shop and talking with them. A good bike salesman should be happy to talk bikes! Depending on where you live, you may find some bike shops are more focused on mountain bikes, others may focus more on commuter and racing bikes. I would steer clear of purchasing adult’s bike from a big box store like Walmart. Most of those bikes are very poorly constructed and they won’t last, which is why they can be sold for such little money.
