The bear was then loaded into a vehicle and taken to a state-managed wildlife area, according to Brown. Not that the bear cared; it was too busy chowing down on Krispy Kremes.

Now, whenever the bear has a hankering for some donuts, it will return to the same area and wait for them to load up the portable dining room...

The Student Prince Cafe is a great German restaurant in Springfield proper; kinda dark and moody for atmosphere. Showing its age; food is great.

Went to The Big E, every 4 years; now, it’s so crowded, it kinda lost its *fun.*

We’ve fled CT for good, for northern Vermont. Only thing we miss about it, is the seafood, caught fresh from LIS.

You must mean Ted’s Restaurant on Broad St. for steamed burgers. They opened a small place in Cromwell; but its not the same as far as atmosphere, as the original in Meriden.

Best ice cream in CT, is at the UCONN dairy bar. Really.

Edible pizza does NOT exist in Vermont. Heh.

One of the best hot dogs I ever had in my life was at the Old Mason's Home in Wallingford, CT ... really.

Ted's is the most famous for steamed cheeseburgers. I was underwhelmed when I went there. The best steamed cheeseburger I ever had was in Wallingford at the old Colony Donuts location (the distinctive neon sign outlived the business by years). I have never been able to match it.

I am sorry about your pizza crisis. We suffered similarly for years in Rockford, IL, where the crust was cardboard, and the primary seasoning in the sauce was salt. Phoenix has a lot for everybody, and I can get suitable pizza and grinders here.

Mama Bear and her three cubs were content to eat bird seed destroying the feeders in the process until I had a chainlink structure built a few years ago...

Looks like my backyard, here in Connecticut. LOTS of black bears everywhere! (and deer, bobcats, fox, wild turkeys, coyotes, etc.)

We can't put bird feeders back up until the bears go into hibernation for the winter months.

Beats Dunkin Donuts hands down.

We have both within a block of each other. There’s rarely a car outside DD, but the parking lot for KK is full day and night.

The same is true of charbucks, the worst coffee on the face of the planet and mickey-Ds’ the worst burgers ever.

So is there a point in there?

It’s a 2 inch square opening and most birds can get thru that even larger birds like Jays and Wood Peckers but not Crows...

Small birds like this Goldfinch or this Red Crossbill can easily access the feeders in the cage…

Neat solution. Those old Yogi Bears can scarf up the pick-a-nick baskets when they want to.

The squirrels we have here would probably build an electronic arm with an erector set or something equally devious.

But in general very great idea I will probably try, while the squirrels work on their devices :)

I wanted to like Moxie... I TRIED to like Moxie. I can't handle Moxie. I also tried to like Jolt. Great concept, ahead of its time, but it just doesn't taste very good.

Moxie, and its *acquired* taste remind me, of the home-made root beer I helped my dad make, decades ago. Yuck! Who drinks chalk.
