If they really cared, they would spend our tax money on subsidizing test prep for minorities, but that would end up proving something they don't want proved.
A woman I went out with years ago was a Radcliffe grad (which has since been absorbed by Harvard).A classmate of hers was a Vice Chancellor of Admissions at Harvard and told her once that were it not for Harvard’s various “affirmative action” policies the entire Freshman Class would consist of Asians and Jews.
So stupid. A gazillion years ago, I got into Berkeley and was awarded a scholarship because of the SAT. No SAT = no objective standard = the liberals on the admissions committee get to admit whomever and whatever privileged class(es) they like. There’s simply no way that I as a white, male, able-bodied, heterosexual, Christian non-donor would have ever been admitted.
Math and English are racist.
Not that I would EVER attend college in California, BUT - this Liberal cr@p just makes my blood boil! And now that colleges in CA are doing it, you can bet all other LibTard, USELESS, Liberal Arts colleges will follow suit. Grrrr!
I finished HS in THREE years - I had taken every class I needed for a well-rounded education, for the credits that were required, plus advanced classes and private study/extra credit courses. My Guidance Counselor told me I had more additional credits toward graduation that she had ever seen before...even more than the ‘smart’ kids, LOL!
I had a full scholarship to a Lutheran college, but instead joined the Army because Carter was Prez and civilian life during those years absolutely SUCKED. No jobs, inflation through the ROOF, no jobs, no gasoline, no jobs, Americans HELD HOSTAGE by IRAN...did I mention no jobs? The Army paid for a lot of my college education. Thanks, Taxpayers! :)
Those of us - and I know there are plenty of others here - that sacrificed and worked our way through our college years really resent all of this favoritism and this IMAGINARY ‘leveling of the playing field.’
In the end, it really doesn’t matter, though. I think people that set goals and work hard turn out to be better for it in the long run and are invaluable to employers during our Wage Slave Years. “Mr. Employer? You need FIVE things done today? Give me FIVE more, just to make it slightly challenging!” LOL! ;)
Clearly the browns and blacks can not compete intellectually. It is most unfortunate that that statement is a fact. Anyone calling it racist probably doesn’t have the IQ to understand it. So those darker colored persons need help to raise their IQs. I’ve read that the Flynn effect has boosted their average IQs over the past few decades higher than their IQs are typically depicted on IQ plots. That is good. It gives them a better chance to compete in America.
My latest cancer chemo has driven me to the wall. One side effect is increased hostility. I’m going to ride that one hard. Disagree with me being not-PC or actually racist and I’ll rip your throat out IF I can get enough energy and IF I can summon enough oxygen by panting to overcome my ultra low hemoglobin (so actually you all are pretty safe at a social distance from me).
P.S. I’m trying to start a trend. Write all your Amazon reviews ending with “Buy American made products, not Chinese”

If they study hard in school (and the schools are providing a challenging curriculum), they should not need to pay for test prep. The SAT has been dumbed down several times; if students cannot pass it, it is not the fault of the test.
Unfortunately, in certain minority cultures, trying to succeed is a traitorous act.
I bet that most of the dumb students who get into U.C. will pursue majors in worthless majors like African American Studies or some other useless “studies” degree. I don’t expect to see them getting degrees in biochemistry or math.
Exactly. It's time to circumvent bricks and mortar 'higher education'. We have way more than enough technology to do a better job educating MORE people online - without those people going into debt paying the costs for buildings, Deans, Provosts, University Presidents, faculty who teach less than a month a year and who overuse teaching assistants, etc.
I sure had no pricey preparation for SAT’s and did fine. Why does our initial reaction always seem to fall upon lowering existing standards?
This is bad news but not surprising being California.
The idea of college admissions being based on merit is so twentieth century. In order to set things right, the dumbest should get top admissions priority.
