I just completed my medical coding program and one of the major things you are taught is to never code that which is not documented. I am really hoping that there will be a major investigation into the fraud that is occurring across the nation. Medicare alone is being bilked for tens of millions of dollars in overcharges.
It will take 2-3 years for Medicare to audit as they are behind. I retired in the field of Hospital Reimbursement and dealt yearly with Medicare auditors.
