Up north winter kills the drive-in movie idea. Daylight savings time doesn’t help during the summer.
There used to be an event in Georgia called the drive-in-vasion where bands would play and movies would be shown (like Blue Oyster Cult and Godzilla). There are things that could be done with that daylight hour before the sun goes down.
Crappy movies don’t help either.

I recall having some fun at the old Fireweed Drive-In in Anchorage in the ‘70s — north, winter, cold. Looking back now, I guess we must’ve been crazy.
Yep and property values are too high to buy the land for essentially a parking lot.
