Waffle House anticipates operating with limited dine-in service for some time as some U.S. states lift restrictions on businesses, CEO Walt Ehmer told CNBC on Tuesday.
I think well gradually start welcoming more and more customers back, Ehmer said on The Exchange.
Waffle House on Monday began to offer limited dine-in capacity at 330 of its restaurants in Georgia and around 70 in Tennessee, following the relaxation of some coronavirus-related restrictions in those states.
The locations that now have partial dine-in service had remained open for carryout during the Covid-19 crisis, Ehmer said. He said those that were temporarily shuttered due to a lack of sales will, for the time being, remain closed.
Ehmer said the company is excited to give customers who were already going to the restaurants to place a to-go order the opportunity to just sit at a distance and eat instead of returning to their cars or trucks to do so.

Salute!
They have to have at least a handful in order to have a fatal shooting incident, or it’s no fun!
A couple places in my town are offering dine-in, but by reservations only, and only half the tables spread much farther out. Interesting adaption. You can fill limited tables, and keep table groups separated. I think it’s worth giving it a shot, especially to get some income going and keep people employed. We can’t keep doing what we’re doing forever, and this might be a way to ease back towards normal.
Between the Bullets and the Botulism, COVID-19 is the least of the problems.
My favorite is a Chinese buffet. Time to learn how to use chopsticks.
You know what that means?
“It happened at Waffle House©” will return.
If I’m a restaurant owner, I would probably just shut down for 2020. Draw unemployment. Then reopen in either 2021 or 2022. Unless I have a drive thru then that’s a different story.
The WaHo near where I do laundry has remained open for dine in. I go at least once a week

When will the late night action and newsworthy customers return to the Waffle House? I miss those juicy police reports.
Since we don’t have WH here in The Alamo City, I can hardly wait to go back to JIM’S for sit-down meals.
(Fyi, I miss “going to the office”, which is what my friends & customers called the local Waffle House, when I was in “the advertising game”. = It was really convenient to invite regular customers to meet me at WH for breakfast & then “hit the bricks” for NEW customers.)

I had forgotten how much I miss the videos of 2am waffle house brawls on you tube
Solved all of the world’s problems at the Golden Donut between 5am and 6am.
Solved them again, the next day.
Going to need a liability waiver law, and soon.
When will the late night action and newsworthy customers return to the Waffle House?
Not quite sure, but that looks like Elvis sitting at the counter in the photo at link???
The Waffle House here are open for take out... We love them. I believe they’ll open for fine in soon in Florida...
