The power went out in our neighborhood last night after midnight. I lay there listening for an hour, hoping (and dreading) to hear the sound of Something Going Down. I thought it might be the start of the ten days of darkness: no internet, no electricity, no communications. My heart was pounding the entire hour. I finally felt resigned and fell asleep.
This weird combination of hope and dread we are living in is wearing me down more than the quarantine.

we’ve had bad wind storms that have knocked out the power over the last ten days, and also with fewer planes over head, the sound of the planes from the AF bases near me are ‘loud and clear’..
