I have a friend who worked in a nursing home, and she said the staff would always come in to work sick. It made her mad because sometimes she would catch it, too.

I've met a few nurse aides (now called "med techs" in some nursing homes). Some of them have drug problems, especially in the veterans' homes. Some of them are rough with the veterans (at least in some of those places) and say disrespectful things in their presence. Some of the other aides are very nice, and I don't see how they can stand to work with the former.

On some of the nurse administrators in veterans' homes, nursing programs in at least some of the universities are injected with feminism from the women's studies and English departments. Some very bad indoctrination happens in some of those departments.

they come in sick because they have crappy benefits on top of poor pay yet if they call in, they get threatened with being fired....and most of them need to work.....

this happens in hospitals too....

Early this week, a lady in my hometown who worked in a nursing home died of the WuFlu.

A few days before her death, she notified her boss that she was running a slight fever and wasn’t feeling well. Her boss ordered her to come to work anyway, stating that she was part of a “team”, and it was her duty to come to work.

She went to work and, a couple of days later, died after being put on a ventilator.

Now her daughter, who is a nurse in the local hospital, is now hospitalized with the virus. Thankfully, she’s not bad enough to be intubated and we pray that it won’t come to that .

IMO, the fact that the nursing home ordered the mother to come in to work sick, was incredibly reckless and selfish. Considering that the nurse had the virus, she probably infected some of the residents.

My hometown and the county where it’s located is sparsely populated with small towns but, for some reason, the county has been ravaged by the virus.
