Remembering 70's music. Best music ever.

Great song by one of the most star-crossed bands ever.

"Looking out from my lonely room day after day."
That tune reflected my mood. I recall looking out of my dormitory window at the gray skies over Saarbrücken, Germany as this tune played on my Realistic portable radio, tuned in to a station in Kaiserslautern or Luxembourg City, in January, 1972.

Music of those years was great. However, this is not one of them. Soporific at best.

It’s hard to listen to any Badfinger song without thinking about the two members that wound up hanging themselves.

Who would thunk, back in the day, that not only Radio Shack, but Monkey Ward, KMart and Sears would one day end up on the scrap heap of history?

A few years back I had the privilege of sitting around a fire ring in a backyard in Whittier Hills, California, with Joey Molland. He was playing my 12 string while I played rhythm on my 6 string. We played for about 4 hours. He sang a lot of original unpublished music that was better than most of their published stuff. Nice guy. Liked his dope. Since I don’t smoke he kept it to just where he had a mild high.

Not to mention Polaroid.

I used to live in the Whittier Hills—near Whittier College.

Loved their songs. Sad that they were destroyed by the business after Apple folded. Great music.

Originally called The Ivy’s. Straight Up was a great album Baby Blue my favorite track but Perfection was the one I played on FM back in the day. Joey Molland is the only living member, Mike Gibbins RIP cancer, Pete Ham & Tom Evans both hung themselves. Very sad stories.
