New thread
Did a grocery store look here in West Kentucky. There are no confirmed cases here but every grocery store I went past was jam packed on a Monday morning.
Our stores are busy here too.. No school in SC
Thanks—to you and the other Freepers who got me up to speed in the early days.
California central valley is more zoo-like than usual.
But calm.
Except for the little old Chinese lady that pushed me out of her way...
A food truck in our town has about 20 people waiting in line.
People standing next to each other no social distancing lol.
All restaurants are closed except take out.
Schools closed in Kentucky today through April 3 as well...
BREAKING: Italy reports 3,233 new cases of coronavirus and 349 new deaths, raising total to 27,980 cases and 2,158 dead

A Dept. of Correction employee has died from the coronavirus
Last night, a member of DOC staff who had tested positive for COVID-19 passed away at a local hospital,” a statement read.
Yeah, I’ve heard same in S. IL too. Sunday morning was not bad at all.
Kinda wish I’d bought more milk, but it was so low, didn’t want to be the reason someone else didn’t have a chance to buy a little. Am surprised no “limit of 4” type signs were up.
Also surprised I actually got in on the 1st page of a “live” thread!
Lookner about to go live

Bring Out Your Dead
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
The false positive rate was 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
If a quarantine saves just one child's or one old farts life, it's worth it.
No worries.
There were a few of us that saw the early number coming out of China in late Jan and though there could be something to this virus.
At the time the numbers were an R naught of 3.8 and mortality of 3%.
Figured that was enough to start a daily thread.
History will let us know how it finishes.
New York is looking more and more like it's going to another Wuhan or Northern Italy.
The worse this thing gets, the better the chances for President Trump’s reelection.
Hey...food trucks would be a great idea, for these restaurants.....keep the line peeps 6’ apart, you can see inside that the guys preparing food all have on gloves/masks, etc., keep a hand sanitizer bottle on window ledge, etc., etc.
Not if the old fart is 75 or over, per Ezekiel Emanuel.
Yes thank goodness for the support and ideas here. We're all set for a good 3 or 4 months...don't have to go anywhere if we don't want to. Hunkered down for the most part right now.
