When I here a sentence that contains “I believe” or “I think” I immediately place the sentence under same category as “I like cheese, do you like cheese?”

Would you rather that he begin every other sentence with "As a virologist, I can categorically state...," "As an epidemiologist, I have found..." or at least with "As a medical physician specializing in communicable diseases of the respiratory tract, I believe..."?

Yeah, come to think of it, so would I!
