I Voted for Warren, My Husband Voted for Sanders, and I Feel Betrayed
Voting for a progressive woman felt like a chance so rare that it caused me to fume at my own husband for making a different decision.

Ever since Elizabeth Warren dropped out of the presidential race, Ive been mad at my husband. Just a week earlier, two canvassers for Bernie Sanders had shown up at our door with flyers. Were Warren people, my husband told them, something I later joked was the most romantic thing hed ever said. But in the days leading up to Super Tuesday, when our state of California hosted its primary, I watched him grow more and more agitated about the possibility of Joe Biden, a candidate who was not progressive enough for either of us, becoming the nominee. So for the first time in the eight years Ive known my husband, we voted differentlyI voted for Warren and he cast his ballot for Sanders.
All primary season long, Id smugly listened while several other friends in heterosexual marriages complained about their husbands not taking Warren seriously. As they told it, their husbands seemed convinced that Sanders had a more radical vision for the countrys future and that he was less willing to compromise his ideals to get things done. But the promise of compromise and collaboration is what attracted so many of my friends to Warren in the first place. They saw her willingness to work with others as a strength, and grew frustrated trying to explain to their husbands why they thought this pragmatic, measured approach was a better way to meet many of the same goals.

My husband, I had thought, understood without me having to explain that Warren not only represented the promise of the countrys first female president, but also had a plan for all the issues that mattered to us, such as gun control and universal child care. When he voted for Sanders, even though he told me he still thought Warren would make the best president, I felt an irrational sense of abandonment. I wondered whether he and voters like him had cost Warren the nomination.
I can solve this problem!
Both should never vote again to avoid the conflict.
That way she could only hypothetically feel betrayed. And hypotheticals are easier to get over.
I hope they both stay home on Election Day
Sounds like a very nice neurotic couple.
A Visual Aid that demonstrates liberals to be bat-$h!+ crazy
There, there, stupid. Hopefully another yowling manic harpy will come along four years from now. In the meantime you should divorce that hateful bastard. Just my advice. Youre welcome
I look forward to her husbands virtue-signaling article on his own deep sense of betrayal that she didnt join him in supporting Bernie.
Move to Cuba and learn how screwed up you both are.
He probably secretly voted for Trump.
How dare my Husband think and act on his own and make his own decisions and not just do what I think he should do... how dare he?!?!?!
What a See You Next Tuesday, feel sorry for her husband, because he is married to a miserable woman.
This tells me that shrewish women who are similar to Elizabeth Warren were basically the people who voted for Elizabeth Warren. I’m glad we don’t have all that many of them.
Yeah you are delusional....welcome to crazy town...dont fret there are plenty of other mentally ill demonrats around...
Until the author and her husband repent and accept Jesus as their savior, and change their thinking and perspective to God’s ways, they will be relegated to continual disappointments in life.
So they’re both too stupid to have earned the right to vote. Too bad they don’t require an IQ above 90 to vote, because then we wouldn’t have a CommiecRAT party.
What a tard.
I never tell anyone who I voted for, ever
Lots of discussion before, none afterward
Much discord is avoided by this approach
Shes a pretty face, but otherwise is a shrew.
