Ocasio-Cortez slammed for being absent from district: 'She wants to be a national star'

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez faces the risk of being “Crowleyed” in June, as one of her primary challengers accuses the democratic socialist millennial of gallivanting across the U.S. instead of tending to her constituents in New York’s 14th Congressional District.

Just like Joe Crowley, the district’s former representative who served for two-decades and became part of leadership in Washington, Ms. Ocasio-Cortez runs the risk of her voters growing increasingly frustrated with her lack of presence - and disconnect - at home, said Democratic primary challenger Michelle Caruso-Cabrera, a former business reporter and CNBC contributor.

“I want to be a representative to the people of the Bronx and Queens. She wants to be a national star,” Ms. Caruso-Cabrera told The Washington Times. “If she likes Hollywood, go to Hollywood.”

Ms. Ocasio-Cortez tells critics that she has held hundreds of events in her district since being elected in the 2018 midterms when Democrats took over the House.

Ms. Caruso-Cabrera, though, argues that the incumbent’s democratic socialist policies don’t line up with the people of the district, composed of parts of the Bronx and Queens, who are upset over the loss of tens of thousands of jobs from the canceled deal with Amazon that the congresswoman helped nix.

AOC won her primary two years ago because the incumbent didn’t show up. Of course the same thing could happen to her.

None of this should be a surprise to anyone. Perfect case in point: You probably don’t even need two hands to count the number of people in her district who give a sh!t about her “Green New Deal.”

Add one other issue....NY state will lose a minimum of one, maybe even two districts. So after the 2020 election and the Census....it’s possible this district will be redrawn, and she’d be screwed out of the 2022 election entirely.

Why would a New York State legislature dominated by Democrats establish House districts in a way that makes the state lose a Democratic seat in Congress?

Saw a Bernie commercial today in Arizona. Had Bernie and AOC together at the end of it.

Population decreases. It’s one of those eight-odd states that will see enough of a decrease, to lose at least one house seat after the census. Same for California, a minimum of one seat to go away.

I know why New York is losing a House seat. My point is that New York’s legislature is going to draw up the districts to ensure that the state loses one of its few REPUBLICAN House members.

I doubt she even cares anymore. She can become rich and famous just by giving speeches to fellow lunatics. Why settle for the chump change of a Congressional salary?

AOC and Megan Markle have a lot in common. Both want the accolades of fame but not have to work for it.

Even if she loses her congressional seat, it doesn’t matter.

She’s in the club now. Get used to seeing her.

THIS is exactly the problem with Washington D.C. these days, and has been going on for a loooonnnnnngggggg time on BOTH sides. Our elected Senators and Representatives have morphed into some kind of “national representative” and not a representative of the district they came from. They are not focused on the impact of legislation through the lens of their district — they simply align with whichever caucus they belong to and vote accordingly.

You have an excellent point.

This little moron is already a commie leader that is absolutely adored by the MSM. I really do not think she will be primaried, as things are crooked enough so it would not happen. But if she is, she still has a bright future and will not be going away anytime soon.

By mentioning that pair in the same breath, you really know how to upset a person’s stomach early in the morning.

Like drinking a mixture of rotten egg, stale bacon grease with ground up rats mixed in.

AOC is a hip progressive, she’s a socialist, she’s the new face of the Democratic Party.

AOC has announced she’ll endorse whoever wins the Dem nomination, even if it’s Slow Joe Biden.

As Hunter Thompson commented on the political ‘maverick’ George McGovern all those years ago, when the bell rang, he was just another Democrat. Same goes for AOC, she’s just another political hack.

Her opponent is 1,000 times better than Ocasio-Cortez. Michelle Caruso-Cabrera should be well remembered from her days on CNBC, and while no doubt a liberal, in the article she says she’s against deBlasio’s deranged no-bail law, and says the people of the district have “escaped socialism and don’t like it” - any injection of sanity into that party is to be welcomed with open arms.
