A baby girl was found dead on a pile of toilet paper inside a restroom stall at a Pasadena park Thursday night, authorities said.
Police got a call that there was a "lifeless infant" in a stall of the womens restroom at Pasadena Memorial Park on 85 E. Holly Street around 10 p.m., the Pasadena Police Department said in a news release.
Officers arrived to find the dead newborn, who police said appeared to be full term.
The child had no signs of visible trauma and the L.A. County coroner's office is working to determine whether she was stillborn or died after being born, Pasadena Police Lt. Anthony Russo said.
Maintenance staff had discovered the newborn when they entered the restroom to clean it Thursday night and they immediately called 911, according to police.
Responding officers canvassed the area, searching for potential evidence and witnesses before detectives arrived and took over the investigation.
Russo said it's unknown if the newborn had died in the restroom or if she was brought there from a different location.
The death remains under investigation and no further details were available.
Pasadena police are urging anyone with information to call 626-744-4241. Those wish to report information anonymously can call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477.

THIS is my WORSE NIGHTMARE!! I say a quick prayer when I open the door to a women’s stall.....ever since that high schooler had a baby in the stall at the PROM and left it to die!
She’s safe in the arms of Jesus.
Not so much the person who left the infant. There will be a reckoning.
Even B4 Corona was lurking I would and will do my best to avoid any public rest room.
I only touch what is attached to me when I absolutely have to use one.
Should never happen but especially in a first world country and in Pasadena of all places?!
Indeed. My heart goes out to the maintenance staff also. So sad!

There have been several cases like that, but I know the one you speak of. Her name was Melissa Drexler (don’t you all just love me? I just know these things) Melissa became known as “The Prom Mom”. She danced right after giving birth to the song “Unforgiven” by Matellica.
Here is a little bio on her

The first story I posted is a different one, that happened in Kentucky, way out in the middle of nowhere.
death culture since roe vs wade
Dead before or after birth? Does this really matter in CA?
Apparently, the child was placed in the wrong place to die. Had she been in a PP slaughterhouse, the claim could have been made that the child was a botched abortion, and everyone would be okay with contributing to her death.
You’re mistaking California for a first-world country. It’s a surprise that someone from the government of the state didn’t hustle the child over to the nearest PP abattoir and claim botched abortion. Maybe next time.
Just a self abortion. Time to move along, nothing to see here, except a beautiful child playing at the feet of Jesus.
how sad for the newborn.
when all they have to do is drop the baby off at ANY fire station, this should be manslaughter at best
There are still so many couples who would have been overjoyed to be given this child! The mother had already carried her to term. Doesn’t CA, of all places, have one of those laws where a baby can be dropped off at a hospital or police station with no questions asked?
OMG!!! I;m an OLD lady and was glad I could remember what I did!!! Good for you!!
Florida has designated places marked by signs, plus the ones you mentioned. The Church I am a member of is one such place.
