A DC priest who shook the hands of 500 worshipers during communion has announced he’s contracted coronavirus.
“BREAKING: A D.C. priest has Coronavirus. He offered communion and shook hands with more than 500 worshipers last week and on February 24th,” tweeted ABC7’s Sam Sweeney.
“All worshipers who visited the Christ Church in Georgetown must self-quarantine. Church is cancelled for the first time since the 1800’s.”

This will be a good indicator of transmittability. Of course he may have gotten it from one of the 500 hands he shook.

There’s a traditionalist Catholic guy on public access TV in the Seattle area who claims that someday the Catholic Mass will be outlawed. I’m skeptical, but if it ever happens, it might be done in the name of stopping the spread of some disease.
I was going to say the same thing. Shaking hands, yes. offering the host, yes. Both together? Never.
It’s going to get around, people won’t even know they have it in the early stages and are at the stores, using all sorts of grocery carts, door handles, working in restaurants preparing your food, work in supermarkets putting out the food, produce, working on your cars, phones, sales products. Forget it, it’s going to get around. That is why the flu does.

Our priests used to put the edge of the host on the palm and full their fingers away without skin to skin contact. Also puts the altar boy out of a job.

It’s already around. Think of all of the airport traffic that has been occuring over the past month.
yep. I don’t know why everyone is so surprised. Think of how small viruses are and how many are running around the world back and forth. Stories you will never hear.
You can’t stop thinks like that. Too many variables.
