It wasnt until August 8th, 2019, months into the unofficial start of the Democratic presidential primary, that Naomi Zikmund-Fisher threw her money behind Elizabeth Warren. The 49-year-old social worker from Superior Township, Mich., had supported Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders in the 2016 primary. But in Warren, she saw something different: a candidate who had translated Sanders progressive talking points into tangible policies, and one who might actually win. She deposited $2,800 the maximum donation an individual can give a candidate during a primary into Warrens campaign. I thought she had a good chance, Zikmund-Fisher says. I gave to her, honestly, with the thought that shes [going to] be the nominee, and lets get her campaign off the ground right now.
Zikmund-Fisher was one of nearly half a million women who contributed to Warrens campaign with the hopes that she would become the Democratic Partys nominee and the first female President. Now that shes out of the race, those donors are frustrated with what the remaining candidates have to offer and have renewed questions about the ceiling for women in presidential politics. I was surprised by how punched in the gut I felt on Tuesday, Zikmund-Fisher says, recounting Warrens losses in all 15 primary contests, including a third-place finish in her home state. Thats just not good enough for the country. Its 2020, and its not good enough.

Maybe stop identifying as a women to gain points with voters?
Ha! Exactly what I was going to say. They keep complaining yet they keep pushing criminals or lunatics for office. They should study the words “Content of character” is they want a female President. People aren’t going to vote a woman for President who has 30 years of felonies under her belt especially one who seems to be above the law, or a half-sleeve obsessed shrieking lunatic who thinks she’s a Cherokee.
I could tell by looking at her name she’s a lefty.
It is pleasant to see them exposed and defeated.
What more does a woman need to do?
Uh... she needs to WIN with ideas that the public is interested in supporting.
It is draining that the failure of these women, is blamed on everything else but the actual candidate.
Hilliary is singularly an execrable human being.
Warren with her Stella Mudd persona and the pack of lies that were her life narrative was not going to win.
Anyone making the misogyny argument is genuinely too stupid to be listened to.
A social worker who could make a $2800 political donation? And having that fiscal freedom, gave her money to Liz Warren? It’s amazing we have so many stupid people. And to top all that, Zikmund-whatever thought Warren could win?! I need a drink!
Not being a fraud would be a good start.
“I could tell by looking at her name shes a lefty.”
Amazingly true. I was thinking the very same thing.
But I want her to know the only reason i didn't vote for her was because she was a woman - and a booger eating moron.
Could it possibly be that most Americans thought of her as a bitter, elitist, incompetent, transparently phony, melodramatic, hectoring Marxist hag?
Please. Most of the WOMEN DEMOCRATIC voters in MASSACHUSETTS voted against her.
Me re then 50% of democrat voters are women and if they thought a woman was the best choice she would have been nominated.
They really need to stop trying to elect firsts and concentrate on n inating best. First black, first woman, first gay, first transgender, how about first competent.
The problem with Warren wasn’t that she was a woman, it was that she was a *unt.
Her I am a down trodden woman seeped through with every thing she said and worse she presented the we are going to get even for my perceived slights of the past. Unfortunate for her the electorate was not made up of divorce court judges. We
Social Worker.
Donates $2800 to Warren.
Did I read that right?
I need my coffee.
