25 things New Jersey people freaking LOVE
The Star Ledger ^ | 02.14.20 | Bobby Olivier

Posted on 02/23/2020 6:49:30 PM PST by Coleus

It’s Valentine’s Day and that means love, right? Sappy greeting cards. Heart-shaped candy. Professions of undying romance blah, blah, blah.

Let’s talk about something that actually matters today: New Jersey people and all the things we love, love, love no matter what day of the year it is. One of the many punchlines thrown our way is that we’re a joyless bunch who are quicker to hate something than to embrace it as our own. Not true! Well, not always true, anyway. Here are 25 items, behaviors and misfortunes of others we Garden Staters love above all else. Enjoy your price-gauged dinners!

The imported pasta. The dangling logs of salami and capicola. The bread — the freaking bread, man. No Italian-American family event — birthday, holiday, funeral — is complete without a few delicacies from the local deli, of which there are dozens around New Jersey. The options are endless, the prices are ridiculously high and the smell of these places should be bottled and sold as perfume. A meteor the size of Sicily could be headed straight for Morris County and as long as the impending apocalypse was catered by a few trays of rice balls, sausage and broccoli rabe and mozzarella balls soaked in oil, it’d be a pretty good time.

Jersey tomatoes are the best

The secret is Jersey greensand.

You can buy it at your local Agway.

Put a few spoonfulls under every tomato plant when you transplant them.

You can also use rock dust from your local quarry, either alone or with the greensand.

The plants need the minerals.

NJ is a great state that is slowly dying by liberalism.

Jersey tomatoes barely exist, except in very small batches.

The Jersey tomato farmer was replaced by the industry’s desire for tomatoes that can be shipped without spoiling, a long shelf life - tasteless tomatoes.

Campbell’s stopped using Jersey tomatoes long ago.

But yes they were so good you could eat a slice on an Italian roll, and it was as good as a steak sandwich.

You can get them in a farmer’s market or better yet, grow your own in a home garden.

Jersey Sucks. No tomato will make up for the crappy rest of the state. Dumbasses voting 100% pensions, incredibly high property taxes, .25 cent add ons to mandate our gas is pumped. To top it off we are shipping these dumbasses to southern states so they can vote this crap down there.

NJ loves:
  1. Taxes
  2. gun control
  3. Democrats
  4. corrupt politicians (but I repeat myself)
  5. speeding tickets
  6. toll roads
  7. Trashy celebrities
  8. Welfare
  9. Corey Booker and his imaginary friend T-bone
  10. Did I mention taxes
  11. etc.
And something New Jersey hates - The Bill of Rights, but take heart, NY is worse
