don’t worry.....the Wash State rat controlled regime will convene and vote in more tax breaks for Boeing and throw in some $5000 bonuses for the workers..
They ought to be ashamed.
They should go back to building 747s and B-52s.
If Southwest’s management was as smart as the original crew, they’d order a dozen or so NEOs (or should it be neoS) at a steeply discounted price as a new customer. That *might* motivate Boeing to get its act together.
That’s ok I’ll put in an order for 3 right now.
If it is Boeing, I aint going.
My brother in law works there...says it’s the most politically correct company - to the point where he’d never be a Director because he’s a white male.
Very sad due to their significant contribution to the USA.
I just hope they learn the lessons they need to learn to once again do well.
They need to seriously do better when they redesign an older product to a newer version.
They can’t rest on their laurels and think too much of themselves.
And FFS they can’t hide or ignore potentially deadly problems.
boeing should not have built an aircraft that was so unstable in flight at certain times that it could only be flown during those times by kludgy software and sensors ...
instead, they should have lengthened the 737 landing gear so the engines could be placed under the wings instead of above and in front of the wings as well as increased the size of the 737 tail ...
but of course boeing didn’t do that because that would mean the modified aircraft no longer would be considered a modified 737, but instead would be considered a whole new aircraft, which would require new-aircraft certification, new pilot training, new simulators, new manuals, and new sets of spare parts, and all of that would have been expensive and taken so much time that airbus would have beaten the pants off of them in the market with the A320neo ...
of course, boeing now may have an aircraft that will never fly again and may have damaged their reputation for decades because they chose to cut corners instead of doing things correctly in the first place ...
If it’s Boeing, I ain’t going.
They should scrap the 737 MAX. They should also scrap that autopilot system that model had.
bfl
Boeing.
We Are Well Grounded.
I get the fact that the new engines were going to be too large to mount in the original location so Boeing decided to modify the location. Fine. Maybe not ideal but workable. What I find to be totally unacceptable is that they didn’t tell anyone that they had installed the MCAS software in the flight control system to compensate for the altered flight characteristics.
Don’t fault Boeing management. It was their “best business judgement.”
The bean counters from mcdonnell douglas wrecked the company. Pay attention who you agree to merge with.
Be my guest.
And how big is the golden parachute the idiot president got for resigning?
Good. They caused the deaths of hundreds of people and they sincerely do not care that they did. Is that anyway to run an airplane manufacturey?
