Migraine sufferers soon may have to seek relief elsewhere after GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) announced it temporarily halted the production of two popular Excedrin products.
In a statement sent to Fox News, the company said it was not recalling either Excedrin Extra Strength Caplets and Geltabs or Excedrin Migraine Caplets and Geltabs, but that it had discovered inconsistencies in how we transfer and weigh ingredients in the products, and was temporarily suspending production and distribution.
Based on available data, GSK believes that the product does not pose a safety risk to consumers, a GSK spokesperson said via email. However, as a precautionary measure, GSK Consumer Healthcare has voluntarily implemented a temporary discontinuation of production and distribution.
While the company did not say when it expects to resume production, the spokesperson said it is a short term issue.

This happened a few weeks ago before coronavirus really became a major story (yes, I know...FR was all over it early). I also know the FDA can shut down sales of medicine due to production issues, but this reads like GSK took production offline by itself.
There is enough hysteria and conspiracies about coronavirus already. Nonetheless, there are LOTS of people who depend upon Excedrin for their migraines, and they were already impacted by a recall in 2012.
This MAY be worth watching.

Anal eze
Now I know why I could not find any Excedrin Migraine. Bummer.
How long will corona virus survive on inanimate surfaces?
That should be the minimum amount of time we do not accept imports from China.
I have helped fives ladies I've know over the years for their migraines problems...stop eating sugar free foods/stuff that is artificially sweetened.
Read the back of everything one buys to look for artificial sweeteners and do not buy it.
*Results may vary. I am not a Doctor nor do I play one on TV.
The Germans came out last week, from some science institute and said that at moderate temperatures...up to nine days. In hot temperatures....much less.
I never thought of that, of course I don’t use artificial sweeteners as a general rule, but I never would have thought they would cause headaches.
Another thing that helps headaches is drinking lots of water.
Dehydration will give you a headache, especially after diarrhea, I have heard artificial sweeteners can cause diarrhea.
My wife and daughter both react poorly to artificial sweeteners.
ALL chewing gums, NOT just those listed as sugar free, contain artificial sweeteners. It’s on the label. Pay attention to Aspartame.
I use the Excedrin Migraine for my occasional migraine. When I am out, I mix my own. I take 1 aspirin, 1 Tylenol and 2 cups of Salada tea for the caffeine. It works pretty good as a substitute.
I use that stuff too occasionally, for convenience sake (or a generic)... But if you really need the compound for your headache, (assuming you take two of the Excedrine) take* 500Mg of Acetaminophen, 500 Mg of aspirin and drink some coffee, tea or cola for the caffeine.
*I’m not a doctor, nor a pharmacist, nor do I play one on the internet.
You beat me to it!
Head the warning labels.
Works like a champ. Glad others figured it out too. It’s very handy in a pinch.
There is Anacin (aspirin and caffeine)
Excedrin Migraine is exactly the same as regular Excedrin. I purchase Walmart’s equivalent for 2.00 per bottle. Same medicine, same contents.
They still make that??? I haven't seen it on shelves or advertised for years.. (not that I have looked for it.)
