It is getting harder and harder to go 'plinking' and range time. Wal-Mart has low or no stock in my area. Academy Sports is pretty tight on their inventory.
What is the best way to get (22,9mm & 38) ammunition?
I am truly asking for a friend.
Ive had good luck with Lucky Gunner.
At least before that unfortunate boating accident...
Palmetto State is great for bulk orders. Usually the shipping is free. But if you only buy by the box you’re probably stuck with Academy.

A friend of mine has had great experiences with Lucky Gunner.
S&G Ammo from Oklahoma. They have been reliable for me for bulk ammo sales. They also have deals from foreign sources often that allow one to buy some good shooting bulk ammo at cheap prices.
Exactly,
The best Place
to get Ammo?
.
You’re Basement.
I use https://www.sgammo.com/ Fast shipping. reasonable prices. Military surplus calibers. (if cabelas doesn’t have a sale going on.)
That reminds me. I need another 2,000 small rifle primers. Another 1,000 large pistol, too.

for centerfire pistol targetsportsusa.com they ship cases for free. as for 22lr i built a massive stockpile via academy.com.
Buds Guns is a reliable source.
Academy and Bass both are super stocked around Nashville with .22 ammo variants
Thank you all for the advice and information. My friend is excited and ready to check out your recommendations.
I had an unfortunate boating accident a long time ago and have never got back into shooting.
My hobby now is to raise chickens, bees and grow a beautiful garden while living a peaceful and tranquil life.

As rktman suggests, try AmmoSeek.com...
They show lowest price per round, and by caliber...Then compare with shipping charges considered...Search by “free shipping” is also available, IIRC...The other suggestions are all good as well...Palmetto, AimSurplus, TargetSports, etc in my experience...
The best time to stock up is always NOW...You may always find it a few cents cheaper waiting and shopping around, but nothing compares to having an adequate stock in the safe or in the cans...Good hunting...
