I was trying to explain comedy with class to my children. Then I remembered one of my fathers favorites, I found this.

Blessings!

I have been over to his house in the Palm Springs area. His daughter(s) went to Palm Springs High School and was friends with my girlfriend and that is how I was able to go over there. Red was not there at the time.

He did get a little risque on occasion. He had one skit involving a busty actress and a dress with a plunging neckline.

He said the only thing holding up the dress was the city ordinance.

Nice clip. He mentions meeting Ivanna and Donald Trump around 3 minutes in. Says Donald’s buying up the town, but doesn’t look Japanese to him!

The host is wearing a skirt that is too risqué for me. I get the current culture. A city ordinance would be the only thing to keep many of their clothes on.

He’s another example that you don’t need a lot of schooling to be smart or successful.

New to me. My father passed 5 years ago. I remembered him talking about Red. Great to be able to pass this onto my kids.

Blessings!

He was a patriot, too. Here’s his piece about our Pledge of Allegiance (that we all said every morning in elementary school in the 60’s):

I remember our black & white TV (I was the remote control), and Dad busting a gut watching The Red Skelton Show. Never saw him laugh as hard at anything else.

I miss that America. I really do.

“I miss that America. I really do.”

As a father raising 5 kids, you have no idea how much I agree with you and your sentiment.

I remember that. But that was about as far as he ever went.

I miss the guy.
