So this was a “low profile” case? I know retired judges can hear cases - I figure they get the unimportant ones?
Thanks.
My first thought.
Ugh. I don’t know how I missed that when perusing her bio. I see that Zero appointed Vernon Speede Broderick, and he is obviously a Dem.
How is Ruth Bader Ginsburg feeling today?
Euphoric on adrenochrome.
“The United States District Court for the Southern District of New York is strongly Democrat (19-5). There are now five seats waiting to be filled.”
Will it be 19-10 or 14-10 when filled?
“Well, since we had an openly fag judge, it is time to appoint an openly straight one.”
One straight to replace this one, and 96 more straight judges to fill the next open judicial openings. (Since gays are only 3% of the population.)
I think that the Chief Judge of the district court assigns cases to the Senior Judges; maybe the CJ thought that Batts, who didn’t have a full workload, had the time to preside over that complete and utter waste of time of a case. If he names another Senior Judge to take over, the case might outlive that one too—no way that the case will end prior to 2025.
I’m not entirely sure of the rules.
