I made it to 72 and once beat cirrhosis of the liver, so I will be trying to do the same with this bad dog—

Praying for you.
Just before I saw your post I saw this one about zinc. I am one who believes coincidences often aare not random. The last 20 years has been coioncidences that seemed to be directed at me.
Seriously though, I've gone through this though mine got my larynx and half the thyroid. First they install a gastric feeding tube that I found quick to adjust to. Wanting to taste the nourishment is another story. While the Nutro packs provide the equivalent of a good meal you may need more if the cancer's been taking the weight off. GNC Bulk 1340 Pro to the rescue! That stuff got me 30 pounds back in six weeks and I can't recommend it enough.
Another blessing was the American Cancer Society putting me up in their facility in Nashville while I received a series of treatments at the VA and Vanderbilt Medical Center. Being surrounded by folks going through similar ordeals, fantastic facilities, transport to and from zapping/chemo - I can't praise them enough.
In two months I was eating again with the artfully reconstructed throat made from my own pectoral muscles. Fine as there's no more room for bodybuilding trophies (LOL). Got a Servox voice simulator but I prefer the neat Boogie Board to write on. Often forget I can't speak verbally which shows I don't dwell on it nor indulge in self pity. It's fun coming up with Harpo Marx routines on the fly.
So if you can keep your sense of humor and faith in God all will work out. All I really miss is...whistling! So weird.
Prayers to you, your family and medical staff!!!
A coworker of mine last year got his stage 3 esophageal cancer into remission.
Prayers up for ya.
Prayers up and continuing for you.
