If recent polls are any indication, Sen. Bernie Sanders is surging in the race for the 2020 Democratic nomination. According to a CNN poll out this week, the Vermont independent has reached a statistical tie with Joe Biden for first place nationally. In New Hampshire, meanwhile, a WBUR survey shows the self-described democratic socialist with a 12-point lead. Polls vary, but Sanders is clearly winning over many Democratic primary voters.
At every stage in his adult life, Sanders has been an unabashed apologist for communism, an evil ideology with a body count of 100 million people dead in its wake. A cursory examination of this record should disqualify Sanders from public office:
While people such as my grandfather were languishing as political prisoners in Cuba, Sanders said that he was so excited about the islands communist revolution that watching JFK get tough on Fidel Castro made him want to puke. In 1980, as most prominent democratic socialists criticized Irans taking of American hostages, Sanders joined a Trotskyist revolutionary party that defended the Islamic regimes actions. When the United States was containing communism in Central America, Sanders flew to Nicaragua to lend credibility to the Sandinistas. The 78-year-old presidential candidate even honeymooned in the Soviet Union and came back full of praise for it. Some may not grasp how bizarre this was during the Cold War, but, at the time, it was almost unheard of to do such a thing. Despite his lifelong fascination with communism, not once did Sanders have the decency to meet Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, a renowned Soviet dissident who lived in Vermont.

Communism is the objective of socialism...........V. Lenin............
Democratic Socialism: you can vote your way in, but you have to shoot your way out.
It’s not news, I mean who didn’t know THAT?
Democratic socialism is what they call it before they have power.
Its who gets to count the votes that counts...
Democrats USED TO BE at least somewhat bipartisan (they voted for impeachement of Clinton in a bipartisan vote)- BUT- today’s so called democrats are nothing like they used to be- they are all out marxists now- there will never be bipartisan support for nearly anything anymore- If today’s so called democrats were as marxist back during the clinton trial, they would never have voted along with republicans to impeach him despite the overwhelming evidence against him
So called democrats today think they are above the law- and no longer have to compromise anything- heck- they even think they can remove duly elected presidents at will- with no actual crimes begin committed-
We have entered a banana republic with no law for democrats-
I, for one, will be voting for Sanders in the Virginia Democrat primary.
Ahhh. Wait until he’s the nominee. Honestly, he has the support of the people. He isn’t lying about what he wants to do. He is telling everyone what his plans are and he’s been consistent for decades (on the big points). In this way he is similar to Trump who ran on very clear ideas. The others are just all out lying as to their intentions. Trump v Bernie and let the people, not the elites, decide
He’s a marxist. The communist party changed its name to democrat.
There is no such thing as a ‘democratic socialist’....just some made up U.S. libtard progressive BS.
What will be the course of this revolution? Above all, it will establish a democratic constitution, and through this, the direct or indirect dominance of the proletariat. [ ] Democracy would be wholly valueless to the proletariat if it were not immediately used as a means for putting through measures directed against private property and ensuring the livelihood of the proletariat.Democratic socialist is just another name for Marxist.
The Principles of Communism
(T)he first step in the revolution by the working class will be to raise the proletariat to the level of ruling class to win the battle of democracy.
Communist Manifesto, chapter 2
Actually, the Democrat party adopted all the planks of the CPUSA (Communist Party of the USA), so CPUSA never has to field any candidates. The Democrat party is basically just a front for CPUSA.
This basically took place back in the early 1970s with the nomination of George McGovern, and has been manifesting more obviously as of late (the mask is off).
Giancarlo Sopo is a writer at The Blaze and was a 2019 regional fellow at the National Review Institute.Ah; no wonder Signor Sopo is ignorant of the fact that there is no distinction between Marxism and democratic socialism.
Democratic Socialism: democracy, where every item on the ballot is “socialism”. Question is who decides what’s on the ballot, who disallows “not socialism” as a choice.
Democratic Socialism is simply a propaganda justification. It sounds good. Everyone gets to bicker over their choices, and the Oligarchy is happy with any of the pre-approved outcomes.
Democratic Socialism emerges as the “socialism” option vs “not socialism”, persistent until it wins ... then, as another noted above, “you can vote your way into socialism, but have to shoot your way out”.
This the big gaslighting lie that leftists use to try and convince others that the left in America isn’t actually left. That Obama was a conservatives conservative, and that there aren’t anh actual socialists in the Rat party.
I see it all the time on other boards. To them its a big right wing lie to label bernie a communist. Thhough they have no problem doing the same thing to our side. We’re all fascists etc...
“Honestly, he has the support of the people. He isnt lying about what he wants to do. He is telling everyone what his plans are and hes been consistent for decades (on the big points). “
Yep, 50-55% of the US population is treading water in life and they want the freebees.
20 years ago we started going to a 2 system class. Today you are either well off or poor for the most party.
The US failed on keeping a vibrant middle class.
Democratic Socialism is the same thing as Communism, achieved by a different path.
Tyranny of the majority.
(I)t is very clear that in fundamental theory, socialism and democracy are almost, if not quite, one and the same. They both rest at bottom upon the absolute right of the community to determine its own destiny and that of its members. Men as communities are supreme over men as individuals. The Democrats have believed this for a very, very long time. They are against individual rights and are collectivist; one can see it in their policies even before Wilson became POTUS.
