Kobe Bryant died in a helicoper crash in Calabasas Sunday morning ... TMZ Sports has confirmed.
Kobe was traveling with at least 3 other people in his private helicopter when it went down. A fire broke out. Emergency personnel responded, but nobody on board survived. 5 people are confirmed dead. We're told Vanessa Bryant was not among those on board.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.

And you are projecting onto me your own behavior:
even as the supposedly innocent Bryant paid to settle a civil suit the woman filed
I mean, really, innocent people would never pay to settle a civil suit.
This woman did not know she was raped. Trust me, when a woman is raped, she knows she is raped. Someone will not have to convince her she was raped.
Where did I ever say this:
Your seeming absolute unwillingness to believe that celebrities could rape women
There you go projecting again.
Fairly young guy, and the daughter ? Ugh. RIP.
I was so hoping this was fake.
My husband is from LA and a huge Lakers fan so, of course, our kids are as well. They were just little things when Kobe joined the team. For all their youth, he was the Lakers. My son and daughter both said it is almost like losing a member of the family.
We hated what happened in Colorado but believe that he broke his marriage vows but did not rape that girl. Maybe too much benefit of the doubt but NONE of us were there and KNOW what actually occurred.
I also hated his politics but he was one of the few that I could still admire and like regardless.
This is a tragic loss for his family and that there are some here celebrating it makes me sad and furious. It is no better than what leftists do.
I pray for his soul and grieve for his family.

I agree with your points...
I found out about his death when I used “California” for the keyword search in FR...
About Colorado incident...At first, I thought he probably raped her...Then I heard more stories about her. Then my position became that I am not sure what happened...
Yes, I know that Kobe was a liberal guy who did not like President Trump...There are many people who do not like President...So my response to his political positions is “whatever”...
He was an excellent basketball player...I think that he also was a father who loved his kids very much...
RIP Kobe...I really feel sorry for his wife and two remaining kids.
Youre plain nuts
Are you a man or a woman?
Its hard to tell
While I too found him less palatable prior, this is still a tragedy and no one deserves this. Praying we hear his children werent aboard. As a non fan Im surprised at how sad I find myself. Doesnt help that we drive by there very often. RIP. He was a basketball legend.

I also am surprised at how sad I find myself. A father and his daughter dying together...What a frightening thought...
I was never a big Lakers fan.
But, I do read sports section. I have read articles about him. I sometimes watched his games...I watched the Gold Medal game in Beijing Olympics when he was on Team USA.
I did read a LA TIMES article about Lebron James becoming a Laker legend...Kobe had no problem with James becoming a Laker legend. He did not sound annoyed about attention Lebron James was getting...He sounded excited about how well Lebron was playing...
People showed up at Staples Center to show their sadness at Kobe’s death...
Lakers are playing Clippers on Tueday night...At Staples Center...I may actually try to watch the game on TNT. I am curious about how Lakers will pay tribute to Kobe. I checked the Vividseats.com and cheapest ticket cost $453.
He should NEVER have been flying in the conditions this morning, it ALWAYS burns off in the afternoon WHY would he take that chance and just not wait a few hours just STUPID!!!

What if he decided to drive instead? From Orange County to Ventura County, it would probably take less than two hours...
However, you could get killed in a car accident as well...
JFK Jr. crashed July 16, 1999, the night I rolled into my new town for a California stay that turned out to be 16 years long. I turned on the hotel room TV the next morning to that news.

Back then, Michael Reagan still had a radio show. I remember him talking about JFK Jr. Michael is President Reagan’s eldest son. Michael sounded very sad when he talked about the plane crash...After all, like JFK Jr, Michael is a son of a president...
there are really good men out there...
take news and understand it....understand why lawyers push certain scenarios..its common knowledge that to win cases the accusers have got to be crucified.....understand why certain things are pushed in the media....understand the power of money to destroy people as needed and then understand why a huge settlement and an apology were given quietly to end that particular case..
Are you unfamiliar with the case?
Answer the question?
You a man or woman?
It was well known that Kobe did not party and sleep around. He practiced while others partied. It was one of the things that made others think he was snobby or stand offish.
There is nothing before or since about him cheating, and certainly nothing about him raping someone. When something like this happens, people come out of the woodwork. Think Tiger Woods and what came out when his marriage fell apart.
Kobe was not a thug but he wasn’t perfect either. We all sin and fall short. I know that I would not want to be defined by the sins of my past.
My family loved Kobe for his fierce intensity on the court and his dedication to the hard work it takes to be such a legendary athlete. He was a humble man and knew that his talent was a gift and he never took it for granted.
So fine. You ain’t buying it. Whatever.
I’m defending him on the day he died a tragic death against people who can’t leave it alone and let those who care grieve for him and his family without dredging up what happened in Colorado.
No better than leftists.
Didn't this guy get major media coverage some year ago when he cheated on his wife?
Then maybe he is just like an iconic liberal Democrat President.
Our society is way overboard in worship of celebrity. It is tragic that anyone should die so young, especially a man with children. Even more tragic is his daughter died also.
But, he’s just a person. We have hundreds of men and women who do much more heroic things than Kobe ever thought of with their lives who die every year. One example, in September of 2017 30 members of Seal Team Six died in a helicopter crash. The media reported it in a normal fashion, but not wall to wall with sad music and endless interviews and tributes to their greatness. They were great. Kobe was talented. Every week military service members die with a simple note buried in news reports. They are heroes.
It should have been reported in the news media and highlights of his career noted. Then other news of much more national importance should have been moved on to. Much more indepth coverage of his life and career should have occured on sports networks, which is continues to be ad nauseum.
The national news spectacle on this is WAY overdone and leaves me shaking my head about how misplaced our worship is.
Agreed.
Now every person who died is identified...
The pilot was very experienced...
A mother and her daughter died together...Very sad.
Absolutely! And they find it hard to believe that some men are cads and worse.
I sure remember.
All this Kobe sainthood makes me sick.
“No better than leftists.”
Leftist practice celebrity worship. You are, lefty.
