Yakov Smirnoff is an entertaining comedian from Ukraine. His routines generally reverberated with Americans who championed the individual at the expense of Soviet and American bureaucracies.

To solve the puzzle:

When he first arrived in America Yakov tried to get work as a bartender. When the interviewer asked, “Can you show me a black Russian,” Smirnoff made the ‘black power’ salute and said, “Yo, comrade!”

Then the interview asked how he would mix up a grasshopper. Smirnoff replied, “Put blindfold on and turn him three times around.”
