A potential juror for the Harvey Weinstein sexual assault case in New York was dismissed after she told the court she could not be impartial because a friend had had an 'encounter' with the embattled movie mogul in his hotel room.
The woman's comment was made this week when asked by Judge James Burke if she could be a fair and impartial juror in Weinstein's case.
'I have a close friend who had an encounter with the defendant in his hotel room,' the woman said, according to BuzzFeed News.
The news comes after reports that Harvey Weinstein's defense team was admonished on Friday by the judge for 'illegally' demanding the media be banned from reporting on the remainder of the jury selection process.
**SNIP**
In a week filled with similar explosive and outlandish moves on the part of the defense, Judge Burke seemed unimpressed by Aidala's latest stunt and a heated exchange followed.
'That is illegal!,' Burke thundered in retort. 'I'll read this [motion], but I'm generally familiar with this form of the law... I'm disagreeing with you on virtually every level.
'If this is inconsistent with having a transparent jury selection, it will be denied,' Burke sharply continued. 'I see this is an end run around my ruling about your desire for time limits.'

Ha haaaaa!!! What are the odds!?
It may be a ruse to avoid duty.
What is the point of being a Hollywood producer if you can’t bang every piece of tail looking for a acting gig?
Seriously
This is Quid Pro Quo at its finest.
Sorry little ladies, when you meet a guy in his hotel room or go up with a guy up to his hotel room, what did you think was going to happen?
I was inappropriately touched/sexually assaulted/propositioned by Harvey Weinstein...
And one after another, everyone in the room/scene steps forward and says the same thing. What a despicable piece of human waste Weinstein is.
Hey Harvey, all the money and power in the world couldnt make you remotely attractive to any decent woman, because A). Youre a fat slob, B). You have a face that belongs on a pig, and C). Youre obesity and propensity to force your disgusting self on women shows that you have no discipline or self-control, or even a smidgeon of self-awareness that would tell you that youre an ugly, fat slob.
That Hollywood, and even most of his victims put up with this repugnant bag of human slime tells you all you need to know about what shallow, soulless, hypocrites they all are.
He is so screwed
I would move for a mistrial if the other jurors heard her say that. Whole jury tainted.
Agree. People don’t talk contracts in hotel rooms.
amen to that
He’s gonna walk.
I was thinking the same thing. The prosecution, under the guise of needing more witnesses, should ask for the “close friend’s” name. I breath easy after being released from the jury pool...have been called numerous times but never served. HOWEVER, if someone lies to get out of it...burn’em.
Do you really believe that directors and producers stay in a Motel 6?
These folks demand high priced multi room suites...and yeah, they do use them for business meetings...being more secure for big buck projects. Heck, on big construction projects where I was on the ground, many times a partner would fly in town on a night flight and have a debriefing in his suites to be up to speed for morning client contractor meetings.
And movie folk spend most of their time outside of offices...need to be seen and see who's having lunch, dinner, drinks with whom else. Rumors and gossip=intel.
So not far fetched that some young women fall for the invite. Keep in mind that these moguls travel with an entourage of assistants and gofers at all times, which one might expect to extend to the suite invite.
Not saying that some of these gals aren't willing to trade body and soul for acting jobs...but innocent lambs do exist.
And tainted the jury.
Six degrees of Kevin Bacon.
#me too is pure BS. Women have always been in control.
I should have considered this when choosing my career, many years ago.
