But then later when Ralphie is beating up Scut, he’s cussing up a storm and his mom obviously heard him, but that time she was much more sympathetic.

I love the scene where Ralphie’s brother is hiding under the sink, and the mother asks him why, and he says, “Dad is going to kill Ralphie!”, and the mother just closes the sink door and leaves him alone.

Yeah and he cursed so much more in that scene but I guess she knew the reason for it...the bullies.

i remember one night thinking my father was gonna kill my older brother.

My brother was really getting wise with my pop and my mother was practically on top of my father to keep my brother alive :)

This movie is more in line with the America even up to the 80s that existed.

I think that’s why it’s loved so much.
