Walter Matthau was an American actor whose main character roles usually portrayed the intelligent, cynical loner during the non-#Woke, Golden Age of Hollywood.

To solve the puzzle:

• Enter the letters in the top half (letter columns) of the puzzle into the white squares on the bottom half (answer grid) below
• Each letter must stay in its own column within the grid
• Each letter must be used exactly once
• Black squares represent spaces and do not get letters
• Gray squares represent punctuation marks or numbers and do not get letters

Thanks, GOP Congress. This is the second QuoteFall I’ve done and it’s fun. I never caught on to Crossword puzzles, but I like the satisfaction of figuring out the quote — and I like the wisdom contained.
