New Orleans police are investigating a mass shooting along Canal Street.
According to NOPD, at least 11 people were struck by gunfire in the 700 block of Canal Street just before 3:30 a.m. Sunday.
Superintendent Shaun Ferguson says officers were on the block when the shooting happened. No officers were reported injured.
A person was detained near the scene, however police say their involvement in this incident remains under investigation.
No arrests have been made.

11 2 critically injured, no dead. Why does this sound like birdshot and anyone who caught a BB was “shot”. They like the “mass shooting” narrative I guess.
Missing from the excerpt is any mention of the ‘Bayou Classic’ football game played in downtown N.O. yesterday. This event always brings the boys to the yard, so to speak.
Drinking too many hurricanes.
I have been in the quarter during this melee
It’s completely overrun with Bantu peoples
Much more than usual
Some are Preppie black kids in polo and izod
Some not so nice
Lots of fights
Whites are a distinct minority on bourbon street and targeted
My daughter and I watched it all from my second story bourbon street balcony at the Sonesta
It was fascinating in a DAILY MAIL way
We saw a lot of fights on our one block
Including one white girl who knocked the crap out of a white girl whose purse he grabbed
I was so angry I yelled and yelled politically incorrect invective no one could hear over the roar below and attempted to shimmy down the drain pipe as my daughter implored me to stop
The girls boyfriend just stood there.....a bouncer saw it all and intervened and the robber ran
It was the weekend they use the cop towers at the corners ..
It was entertaining honestly
I hated it when the bayou classic became a thing in New Orleans, that and black history month. The children are taught hate. I was in the main library one day and there was a meeting with children and the things that came out of the mouth of the speaker were disgusting.
How long will it be before racist tourists turn Bourbon Street into a ‘tourist desert’?
