...yearslong campaign to essentially frame Ukraine as responsible for Moscow's own hacking of the 2016 election, according to three U.S. officials

Then, shalt thou count to three. No more. No less. Three shalt be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, nor either count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out.

The only problem, well not the only problem, with the "intelligence" community's assessment of the Russian hacking of the DNC server is that it comes from a Crowdstrike blog post. Maybe there's nothing wrong with Crowdstrike and it's just a conspiracy that they are tied to Democrats and not a neutral investigator. But I read that blog post at the time (June 2016) and it was nothing more than cyber masturbation by an alleged elite haxor from Russia (now naturalized US). It was the most unconvincing attribution analysis I had ever read.

the article is by Julian E. Barnes and Matthew Rosenberg; it is posted on Yahoo, so no paywall, because it needs to be spread, because it is FakeNews:

Wikipedia: Matthew Rosenberg
Rosenberg was part of a team of New York Times reporters who won a Pulitzer Prize for national reporting in 2018 for reporting on Donald Trump’s advisers and their connections to Russia...
On November 5, 2009, The Nation newspaper in Pakistan printed a front-page story that accused Rosenberg of being a spy. The story claimed that Rosenberg worked for the CIA and the U.S. security contractor formerly known as Blackwater...

NYT: Julian E. Barnes is a national security reporter for The New York Times covering the intelligence agencies. Before joining the Times’s Washington bureau in 2018, he wrote about security matters for The Wall Street Journal...

read dozens of comments - all willing to go along with every word these two characters have written.

love how the article ends with quote from “former” CIA guy, Marc Polymeropoulos.

6 Nov: Washington Examiner: Spies urge CIA Director Gina Haspel to protect whistleblower from Trump
by Daniel Chaitin
But current and former officials told NBC News she should protect the anonymity of the whistleblower, a career CIA analyst. Some have said she should resign if Trump reveals the name.
“It will be incumbent on her to protect the whistleblower — and by extension, the organization — moving forward,” said Marc Polymeropoulos, a senior CIA operations officer who recently retired. “This is a seminal moment for her leadership, and I’m confident she will do the right thing.”

Is it possible that the Democrats conspired with Ukraine to kill two birds with one stone? The Democrats wanted to attack Trump, and the Ukrainians wanted vengeance for the loss of Crimea?

Ukrainians didn’t expect Trump to win. All their actions were to demonstrate loyality and usefulness to Democrats and they really went too far while at it.

CIA is on the board of Burisma which Biden was on until recently. Or maybe former CIA, if there’s a difference.

There were people on FR pushing the same narrative as Fiona Hill. Anybody who considered the Russian side of it was called a “bootlicker”.

Obama did not install the anti-missile system in Europe, as Putin requested.

Obama did weak sanctions as Russia invaded Ukraine and annexed Crimea.

Obama refused to provide lethal weapons to Ukraine in their fight against Russia. Trump reversed that.

Trump paused the military aid until the newly elected Ukrainian gov’t could be evaluated as being worthy of them.

Russia has engaged in a “long pattern of deflection” to pin blame for its malevolent acts on other countries,.....

Wow - this sentence can be easily re-written:

The Democratic Party has engaged in a "long pattern of deflection" to pin blame for its malevolent acts on Republicans.

So NY Slimes, were you lying then or are you lying now?

Since you had no reason to lie then, and it fits your extremist Democrat Fascist Party political agenda to lie now, it seems pretty clear which it the lie.

So... It’s all back to the Russians.

Funny thing... Back in the 90s, Chinese agents were dropping off suitcases full of cash to the Clinton White House and the NY Times didn’t think anything of it... It’s kind of like how the Obama administration authorized and encouraged foreign powers to spy on and investigate Trump, but when Trump calls for an investigation of Biden it’s a tragic miscarriage of justice.

The NY Times is a laughing stock of perverted justice and self righteousness, and they have the audacity to produce commercials claiming they print the ‘truth’... It’s farcical.

I don’t believe any of this is a lie. Do you?

“ Russia’s persistence in trying to sow discord among its adversaries “

“Russia has engaged in a “long pattern of deflection” to pin blame for its malevolent acts on other countries”

“Moscow has long used its intelligence agencies and propaganda machine to muddy the waters of public debate, casting doubts over established facts.” ... “Russia’s pattern of trying to blame other countries for its own actions, like the attempted poisoning last year of a former Russian intelligence officer or the downing of a passenger jet over Ukraine in 2014. “

“The Soviet Union used disinformation for 70 years. This is nothing new. Vladimir Putin is a former KGB agent. He is trained in deception. This is his stock and trade, and he is doing it well.”
