Elizabeth Banks suggests her 'Charlie's Angels' box office bomb is because men 'don't go see'...

Charlie's Angels" lost its wings over the weekend, earning just $8.6 million while the racing drama "Ford v Ferarri" topped the box office with a $31 million debut and the war film "Midway" came in second earning $8.75 million, according to Box Office Mojo.

Banks -- who wrote, produced, directed, and starred as Bosley in the reboot -- hinted to the Herald Sun prior to the film's release that a form of sexism from a male-dominated audience may be to blame for its current lack of financial success.

“Look, people have to buy tickets to this movie too. This movie has to make money,” Banks told the Sun. “If this movie doesn’t make money it reinforces a stereotype in Hollywood that men don’t go see women do action movies.”

The "Hunger Games" actress seemed to dismiss the box office success of "Captain Marvel," the Brie Larson-led Marvel film that earned $1.1 billion worldwide earlier this year, as well as "Wonder Woman," which grossed $821 million in 2017, because they belonged to a "male genre."

Banks addressed the movie's flop, tweeting: "Well, if you’re going to have a flop, make sure your name is on it at least 4x. I’m proud of #CharliesAngels and happy it’s in the world."

Glad to see that she's taking it like a man.

Men don’t go to movies to watch ugly chicks act poorly.

Once upon a time a pet food company created a new variety of dog food and rolled out a massive marketing campaign to introduce the product. Despite hiring a first-rate advertising agency, initial sales were very disappointing. The agency was fired and a new agency and a new campaign was launched. Sales continued to disappoint. If anything, they fell even further. In desperation, the CEO called in all of the top executives for a brainstorming session to analyze what had gone wrong with the two campaigns and how a new campaign might revive sales.

The meeting went on for hours. Sophisticated statistical analysis was brought to bear on the problem. One VP argued that the mix of TV and print ads had been messed up. Another argued that the previous campaigns had been too subtle and had failed to feature the product with sufficient prominence. Another argued that the TV ad campaign had focused too much on spots during sporting events and not enough on regular programming with a broader demographic. Another argued the opposite–not enough sports programming had been targeted. After the debate had raged for hours, the CEO felt they had accomplished very little. He asked if anyone else had any theories that might explain the failure of the new product. Finally, one newly hired employee raised his hand and was recognized. Maybe the dogs don’t like it, she said.

Men loved Linda Hamilton as Sarah Conner in the original Terminator movies. They loved Sigourney Weaver in Alien and Aliens. There are a lot of other examples.

Not many people want to go see movies with an agenda.

Couldn’t possibly be that no one wants to pay to see a warmed-over, big screen rehashing of a mediocre ‘70s tv show.

What a laugh riot.

Here’s the broad who brings a sexist vehicle like ‘Charlies Angels’ to the screen complaining about sexism? Liberals are just much too full of themselves to have any sense at all.

Stereotypes exist for a reason and the ones that are based in fact are valid stereotypes.

Where are all the women buying tickets, Elizabeth? Why arent the women supporting other women? Who needs the guys, women don’t need men or their money.

When movies make a ton of money everyone is in awe, not even the left complains why they make so much money.

When movies lose money, it is someone's else's fault. We are the elite celebrities, how dare you not give us your money!

Good to see she got a clue although she tried to color it in a sexist vein.

Of course, the Woketards just ruined the Terminator Franchise. But your point is well taken.

I was unusual as a teenager in that I didn't watch the Charlie's Angels television series. So, getting me to pay to go see a Woketard version is a fool's errand. Why am I going to pay hard-earned money to watch a movie that denigrates who I am?

Charlies angels is sexist at its core. One guy ordering around 3 hot babes. Surprised anyone even still tries to make a movie around such a horrible un-pc premise.

You know its fantasy because in the original series the women had respect for the guy and actually did what he told them to do.

Alright, so which one of these "Angels" is pretty?

As a man, this is something I need to know, and I can't really tell on my own.

I guess the black chick is the only decent looking one, because the diesel dyke is repugnant looking with her who farted sneer, and the last is just kind of stupid looking.

All three of them look like they forgot their glasses.

And why the Hell are all of their mouths partly open? Why do women do this when being filmed or having pictures taken of them? Is this supposed to be a turn on? 'Cuz it's not.
