CHICAGO Chicago Police Supt. Eddie Johnson admitted he had a few drinksafter he was found "slumped over" in a car early Thursday morning, according the mayor's office.
In an interview with the Sun-Times Friday, Mayor Lightfoot refused to say whether the superintendent should have been driving or whether he should have been given a sobriety test.
The mayor told the Sun-Times she would await the outcome of the internal investigation before determining whether the rules were bent to protect the boss and whether to hold Johnson responsible.
"While we have no indication of impropriety at this time, this question can only be answered by the internal affairs Investigation. That investigation active and ongoing," a Chicago police spokesman said.
A 911 caller reported seeing a man "slumped over" and "asleep" in a vehicle near 34th and Aberdeen streets at a stop sign. Officers responded to the scene and the police department confirmed it was Johnson in the car.

Public officials don’t get to ‘refuse to say.’
Everything will be fine.
Me, myself, personally would tell Madame Mayor and the Headhunters to stow it in a site unseen by the sun or a good cleaning. Don’t know how the Troopy’s feel about Supe Johnson but at face value, I’m a tad disappointed they hung him out with the wash.
Per SCC, the call to report a guy slumped over the wheel came from a city-owned cell phone...

Stroke?
Interaction between medication and his drinks?

Intoxicated, in a City owned vehicle, armed with a City issued weapon, on a public way.
Nope. No improprieties there. Not one.

How many times did the cops shoot the 911 caller that reported him?
Nobody forced a kidney recipient to get liquored up. Nobody forced the liqored up transplant recipient and police super to get behind the wheel of of his car after abusing alcohol. Nobody forced to him to lie about it afterwards.
If whomever placed that call did so with malice aplenty...I wouldn’t call that a set up. Just desserts, maybe.
There is an exception and it is called being a card carrying member of the Democrat Party.

After reading the latest at SCC, I’m even more concerned about the president’s safety during his visit to Chicago...
