No she wasn’t. Hillary was from Park Ridge, IL, a neighboring suburb of Oak Park. Hillary’s dad was a conservative, and Park Ridge was a conservative suburb back then. Hillary started out a conservative until she hooked up with Bill.
My home town while very young was Oak Park, IL where my uncle was a Doctor at Oak Park Hospital. All my relatives lived in Oak Park and the surrounding suburbs.
Oak Park Bakery was the best bakery in the world by the way (still there), and that from the granddaughter of a great German baker. Grandpa owned bakeries in the surrounding Oak Park area. The great architect Frank Lloyd Wright was raised there, had his studio there, married there, and raised his family there, up until he had an affair with a fellow female Oak Parker and they abruptly left Oak Park where the scandal of their affair was the topic du jour.
So sad that Oak Park has such a rotten local gov’t now. I love Oak Park and it is now polluted by a bunch of metrosexual liberals.
Oak Park is a lovely suburb of Chicago, which in the early days was where the money magnates of Chicago had their summer homes to escape the City when possible to an at that time, small, quiet nearby refuge from the big City bustle. Ernest Hemingway’s childhood home is there, now a museum. Wonderful eateries, many beautiful homes, lots of historic architecture from the turn of the century forward, not only FLW. And close to the City, hence very attractive to the early upper class who worked and commuted to Chicago from their lovely estate homes in Oak Park.
I worked amongst the enemy for years and retired from the Univ. of IL at Chicago. Many of the Professors from UIC, most all of them ultra liberal, now live in Oak Park. Libs stick together in their liberal enclaves and bubble environment. Would that Oak Park was like in the olden days, and not the now progressive lockstep mind think it has become.

Am also saddened that such a lovely neighborhood created the polluted metrosexuals-— but you must understand that the two “famous” you cite are the freaking ROLE models for the liberal elite effete snob frankly communist fellow travelers that have brought the US to where it is- the very core of the pelosi-type democratic machine of drunks and druggies. You’ll notice they always insist on getting paid— strange for a “socialist” to insist on personal profit. Hemingway was an “artistic” communist (followed by a full FBI counterintell team- even as he was posted by cia to Fidel Castro while he lived in Cuba). Wright— well, a great architect, impractical but “artsy” and visually great designs of a civil engineer- with terrible social skills and 3 loser wives— 1 out of 4 not bad, but the “artiste” appeal was not a capitalist one— but more “one with nature” socialism, light and heavy fellow traveling. Opinion shared by many in retrospect.
It takes successful conservative hardworking American business to provide the capital for socialists and communists to sponge off of— to tax for the State. Thus those generations after are ashamed of their family/s hard work and wealth building and are drawn to the “easy” elitist and Statist socialism because it beats working, feeds their narcissism and assuages their guilt... especially white guilt. Which they learn even at the finest private schools from the very snot nosed wannabees who teach there.
