Two prototypes and new partnerships have brought Danish brewing giant Carlsberg a step closer to releasing a paper beer bottle.
Carlsberg said in a press release that it was close to selling beer in paper bottles, in part to the partnership.
Having worked on development of sustainable packaging since 2015, the company is scheduled to present two prototype paper bottles in Copenhagen on Friday. [ ]

Many years ago (30?), when REALLY large fountain drinks started popping up at the convenience stores, the container was made like a milk carton, complete with fold on the top, but was cylindrical at the bottom. A small clip held the top closed, but it could be opened if needed to pour multiple drinks.
My main memory about that short-lived container is that the soda went flat pretty quickly. You’d probably be hard-pressed to even find an image on Google for it.
Flat beer.
Plus killing trees.
I mean they already banned paper grocery bags everywhere they can.
“Is Carlsberg about to release a paper beer bottle? [Denmark]”
Something else for California to ban.
What we need to do is establish a beer pipeline throughout North America and pipe beer right into everybody's home just like we do with tap water.
How do you use a paper bottle in a bar fight?
Clearly a Second Amendment violation if they try to bring those here.
Let alone throwing them with any impact at highway signs from a rapidly moving car
Give them a nasty paper cut and then rub a lemon wedge on the wound?
“Six-box of beer” just doesn’t have the same ring.
A friend of mine said it might make it taste better ,LOL , I don’t care I hate Beer
Lol!
“99 paper bottles of beer on the wall....” just doesn’t have quite the same ring to it.
Theyd be smarter making the glass out of pretzel. Then, after youd finished your beer, you could chew on the cup and then wash it down with another.
LOL, thread of the day!
