Most of the Montagnards were Christian and were our allies, yet we left most of them to suffer their fate with the North Vietnamese after we pulled out and Saigon fell. The Kurds can only fight for independence from four existing Middle Eastern countries or assimilate into the societies and cultures around them. The latter is more difficult as those around them would rather kill them than allow assimilation after generations of antagonism. How far back do their animosities go?
