It’s going to be a slow moving major rain maker. I’m in SW Florida and there are gas lines and no water even though it’s going to land on the east coast. People here remember in Irma and Charley and are taking precautions. I lived at the Jersey shore when Sandy hit so I tend not to panic too much. People just need to be prepared and evacuate if necesary.

No water. Does no one realize water comes from the kitchen tap? Did they not ever think of saving up plastic bottles and fill them with cheap tap water during emergencies? Can they not over-night a $30 Water Bob to fill their bathtubs with, again, cheap tap water?

It’s amazing how fast Florida’s grocery shelves go empty. It’s like they’re totally taken by surprise at news of hurricanes. What did they do with the wood they used last time to cover their windows? Can they not keep a few rolls of duct tape on hand? Did they not think to ask for a generator from Santa back in December when the Home Depot had plenty in stock? Could they not have picked up a few cases of pork ‘n beans last July 4th and stored them out of the way under the bed?
