An NFL team has offered women’s soccer star Carli Lloyd the chance to become the first woman to kick in an NFL preseason game, after she drilled a 55-yard field goal at the Eagle’s training camp.
Why the NFL would put a woman in a position of being injured is anyone’s guess.
Lloyd uncorked her kick after being invited to the Philadelphia Eagles training session last week, and video of the kick went viral, Fox Sports reported.
This week, Lloyd’s trainer, James Galanis, noted that the soccer star had been approached by several other NFL teams to play for them in a preseason game.
“The one that called today, I don’t want to say who it is, was willing to put her on the roster for their next (game). They were willing to put her on the roster,” Galanis told Fox Sports.
However, that deal may not occur. “She was told (she could) play on Thursday, the NFL game, but she is playing Thursday with the national team, so that was the conflict,” the trainer added.

I actually have a relative who is a kicker in the NFL.
Not gonna name him as that league has been so infested with SJW’s they’d probably can him if they found out that anybody in his family FReeps.
By the way, it’s probably not an accident that it was the Eagles who invited Carli in to kick. Carli is a Jersey girl, so it’s a local interest thing. But also, the Eagles have Zach Ertz — you may have heard of him — who is married to … well, you know. There’s a bit of a football-soccer synergy already in play that the marketing department is probably interested in.
Is hist last name McFrog?
If she gets nailed by a player the left will howl.
Why would a kicker need a shower?
We’ll see how well she kicks field goals when she has 300 pound linemen advancing on her.
Ruffling the Kicker
So they basically want to use her as a prop for a game. But not really have her on the team. I would be insulted.
Kind of funny because I read a story from our high-school library called “Kick It, Kathy” which was about a girl in HS taking over the kicker position. I don’t recall she really wanted it per se, but her boyfriend found out she could really kick it far and pushed it.
Hence the photo of her with a Raven.
Honestly, it stated that several teams called on her.
More reason to watch reruns instead of the thug league.
Is there a rule about #steps or yards?
Because the question to ask is what is her stride. She may be shorter than the average kicker, with shorter stride.
On the Lions, the field goal kicker is the only one who can score points........
I say let her try. It’s in the Eagle’s DNA to give the underdog a shot too.
I’ve never been a fan of the Eagles, but I can’t root against them. I did in the Superbowl when the got pasted by my Oakland Raiders, but . . .
