A man rrested at the site of Burning Man faces charges of sexual assault and false imprisonment.
Oleg Gennadievich Ivanov is thought to be in custody at the Pershing County Jail with a bail set at $152,500, Pershing County Sheriff Jerry Allen told the the Reno Gazette Journal.
The victim gave an account of the incident and a description of the suspect, as well as the suspect's location, which helped cops track him down.
Police said he was cooperating with the investigation following an interview.
It is not known if the suspect or the victim are connected with the Burning Man Project.
Burning Man does not get under way until August 25 and takes place until September 2 at a location in the Nevada desert.

Burning Man corp. has regional subsidiaries that host the same kind of weirdness on a smaller scale.
There was one hosted for several years a few miles from me.
A couple of years ago one of the attendees drowned in a lake. The landowner was obligated by contract to host again last year but pulled the plug on the event this year.
For a few days every year when it was up and running there were a lot of weird people around the area.
Isn’t the whole event one giant debauchery and bacchanalia? It must be hard to be charged with rape there.
Now if it were Svetlana Gennadievich Ivanov, you’d probably render the opposite verdict even without photos.

Last year I was at one of the big discount grocery stores in town on Friday pre-BM. Burners were everywhere. A crusty-looking bunch even before the burn.
Monday AFTER, I spotted a pair of them with a SUPER dusty car looking very burned out outside the local liquor store.
Interesting group. Not for me. Not even when I was young and foolish.
Maybe eight or so years ago, a couple of them had a single-car fatal accident out here on the way home late at night. There’s still one of those road-side shrines by some guy’s hay field where the driver fell asleep and they both bought it.

It is also hard to get charged for rape there because many if not most people are in costume. It’s a temporary city which makes identifying the location and perp problematic.

Why would any NORMAL person go out there and even think all that craziness and evil wouldn’t come back on them? A couple passes with an A-10 warthog would be a good start to cleaning up the planet
