John Allen Muhammad was born in 1960 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, as John Allen Williams. At age three Williams’ mother died of breast cancer, and his father left town. His maternal grandfather and an aunt subsequently raised the boy. In 1978 Williams enlisted in the Louisiana Army National Guard and trained as a Combat Engineer. Seven years later he transferred to the Regular Army. In 1991 he deployed to Kuwait in support of the First Gulf War.
While in uniform Williams qualified Expert with the M16A1 rifle and trained as a mechanic, truck driver, and metalworker. He would later put these skills to much darker use. In 1987, at age 27, John Allen Williams joined the Nation of Islam. In 1994 Williams was honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant after seventeen years of service. In 1995 he acted as a security officer for the “Million Man March” in Washington, DC.
Williams was married twice. In 1999 he kidnapped his three children and took them to Antigua. During this time he met Lee Boyd Malvo, the young Jamaican man he later described as his stepson. In 2001 Williams officially changed his name to Muhammad, and formally gave himself over to the Dark Side.

a buddy of mine had a white box truck for his carpentry business. He was off to work stopped into a 7-11 for coffee. When he came out, he was surrounded by FBI.
The day after Chief Moose lied to us about white box trucks, I gave up counting them after seeing a dozen or so on my less than 10 miles drive to work in Fairfax County.
This “look back” reads more like a “how to” article with tips about how not to get caught.
The author brought up all sorts of interesting information I did not know.

Well a few years later an ATF agent previously working is Seattle moved in next-door.
They had a good idea since DAY ONE who was doing this!!!!! He previously did this exact same thing in Seattle. They staked out his ex-wife house in MD and a house he was renting in VA.
The reason he was caught was one of the cops got fed up with Moose and leaked his license plate number! IIRC, the car was a blue sedan with a hole in the trunk were he could shoot from. Also the kid kept a diary of all their hits and misses. (Thank God, they missed a lot.)
We lived through it also. The first murder occurred about a mile from one of our offices. In thew evening I always though I could be picked off in the lit floor level office. What BS. by PC loser nitwits.
