“What do you expect from a pro-electric website?”
So you don’t have a problem with their facts?
They also do not mention the cost of buying and installing a home charging station, which could easily cost more than $2,000.
The first Model 3s to roll off a production line occurred in July 2017. Thus, any estimate of 5 year repair costs are based upon limited data.
As another FReeper pointed out, there are no guarantees that electricity prices will continue to be what they are now - particularly when demand goes up.
As an aside, I find it interesting that the ‘green’ crowd are against using air conditioners - as they use too much energy (electricity), but are advocating for everyone’s car to be electric. Estimates are that a single charge of an electric car is equivalent to running an air conditioner for 6 hours.
Finally, there's the big question of what is the carbon footprint of producing the electricity for electric cars, and obtaining the raw materials for the batteries, etc., and how does this compare to the decreases in carbon production by switching to electric cars? (I know there are estimates out there, but it seems that they vary and that there are always variables that are ignored).
“So you dont have a problem with their facts?”
How did you jump to that conclusion? I took it that the poster was taking argument from their propaganda claims.
There were no facts presented in the article. A fact required references to the claims, not just made up numbers.
The dumbing down of America on display: We have posters that don’t even know what a fact is.
