Not a chance.

The bulk of those “homeless” people are there by choice.

Most are Americans who let drugs control their lives permanently.

Booting them out will sure help.

The estimated number of illegals in SoCal alone is 2.2 million, so you can bet that it’s a lot higher than that.

People would be surprised how many illegals are affluent OTMs, “Other Than Mexicans”. A lot from China. Some rich enough to buy houses here. Politicians couldn’t care less. They don’t serve Americans.

I don’t think so.

The homeless are not illegal aliens.

At the very least it will drop rental prices.

To end the homeless problem we need to stop starting wars.

Something like a third of the homeless are vets.

I remember living in NYC and noticing the homeless people.

Though there may be exceptions, most were not there because they couldn't afford a house or apartment. They were there because either they had mental problems (mostly schizophrenia) or because they had drug/alcohol problems or both.

There were homeless shelters available but many homeless folks weren't interested.

I hear that some of the homeless camps in California are different...that it is a cultural phenomenon.

Of course, California always was different.

“Whatever happened to the flop houses?”

I can’t remember the circumstance, but I was in a flop house in the early sixties or late 1950’s. My mother explained that people without houses could stay there for a few dollars a week. It was clean and a large but very old building someplace in downtown Tampa. I want to say Franklin Street.

That and all the similar fully paid for buildings were eliminated by the urban renewal of President Johnson’s Great Society. People went from being about to afford rent in paid for buildings and from owning their own homes outright, to being forced to pay rent which was subsidized by the government. They went from being independent to being dependent. A week after the new Soviet Block style apartments were occupied they started to accrue graffiti, which never had happened before. Soon there were abandoned cars in the streets and then, burned out hulks.

Blacks went from being strong on family to having kids out of wedlock. The gimmedat culture started then, to. I remember reading the prison stats in 1964. The percentage of blacks in prison was the same as their percentage in the population; about 12% at the time. That all changed thanks to Johnson. Johnson was a truly unpleasant old time southerner who hated blacks. He reportedly said when he signed the Civil Rights act, “We’ll have these *iggers voting for us for the next 100 years.” In the picture MLK is standing directly behind him as he says it.

It is a drug problem. Specifically a problem with illegal drugs. Making drugs illegal restricts the supply causing prices to rise. The market steps in and makes sure that the demand is met. The harder they try to enforce laws, the higher the price and the profit. Legalization is the only way to address the problem. Take the cartels out of the supply chain and free up the resources of the consumers of drugs to afford housing

Nope. Homeless population is almost entirely mentally ill, or addicted and there by choice.

Those day labor jobs one could get for some extra money, or when the SHTF, one could dig, cut, chop, paint, mend, repair etc . . .
All now handled by illegals.
Those workers have to live somewhere.
Entire neighborhoods are now like a third world colony.
The lanscaping industry is now Spanish speakinng, top to bottom.
Some have risen. With ITIN numbers, could get a mortgage.
Lots of Black neighborhoods are now all Spanish.
Lots of invading groups are doing the same thing.
Drive out the invading hordes, any way possible.
By any means necessary.
Your life will soon depend on it.

90 plus percent of the “homeless” are drug users or want to live that way. Most of the real homeless are being cared for by family and friends.

A huge percentage of the homeless are mentally-ill, and belong in asylums and institutions, under medical care. The demonkkkRATs closed them down the in 60s. Illegals are a new addition to the mix.

If not, it will solve the “illegal” problem.

Too bad it will never happen.

No, it won't. There are plenty of homegrown heroin/fentanyl/OxyContin addicts and mental cases.

There are plenty of other good reasons to end illegal immigration, and if the US is to continue as a sovereign nation it must do so. But ending illegal immigration isn't likely to make a dent in homelessness.

Evicting 11+ million people would definitely increase the supply of apartments and reduce rental costs across the nation.

Good idea - but apartment owners will probably disagree.

Not going to happen. The homeless are there because they want to be or because there are no state psychiatric hospitals to house them. Some might seek a better life but not many.
