At Wednesday nights world premiere of the Childs Play remake, it was obvious that evil doll Chucky the star of seven films over three decades had a little work done. And now he bears a striking resemblance to Donald Trumps Mini-Me.
Oh, you caught that? Aubrey Plaza told Variety on the black carpet outside ArcLight Hollywood.
Im waiting for all of the think pieces to come out about this issue, she continued. I mean, what can I say? The thought crossed my mind a couple of times. Maybe I improvised some lines about it. Maybe they made it in the cut. Maybe they didnt. Well see. (Promoting the film didnt prevent the openly bisexual actress from getting her Pride on this month: I didnt get out to any of the parades but I celebrated in my own way, she said. I mean, to me every month is Pride month.)
Mark Hamill, who was attracted to the sci-fi twist on the original movie (The fundamental difference is the origin of Chucky hes not a serial killer that transposes his soul into a doll, hes artificial intelligence and someone maliciously takes off the safety restrictions in his operating system, the actor best known as Luke Skywalker explained), couldnt deny the resemblance to President 45. Thats pretty accurate, he told Variety. Now hes even creepier than he was before. (Some people say that, director Lars Klevberg also admitted of the scary similarities.)
And the comparison certainly wasnt lost on costar Brian Tyree Henry: [Chuckys] incredibly creepy, he told Variety. And whos creepier [than Trump]? You know what Im saying?
Without revealing any spoilers, Henry added that this movie flips the script on decades of racist horror flicks where the black guy dies first. Know that I wouldnt have taken it, if that were the case, he told Variety. [But] it is true: That is the trope, and that was the way horror movies were back then they were commentaries on what we went through socially at the time.
Now thats a scary thought.
Childs Play is in theaters on June 21.
Oh good grief. . . What a stretch.
hahahaha. So funny! Hahaha so fresh! Hahaha what a unique movie idea. Hahaha I love the unscripted remarks! Hahahaha. Brilliant! Hahaha
Prepare for another term, losers.
In their heads, rent-free, 24/7. :-D
DON’T SEE IT................
They will succeed.
Everyone will be talking about this.
This is an old hollywood ploy. You see it all the time when, just before a film comes out, one of the actors (who happens to have a new film coming out) makes a public comment which makes 'news'.
This is how hollywood PR firms "generate buzz".
I don’t know, he kind of reminds me of Buttgig
Not. Even. Close. What do they think they’re gonna do, change our minds? No sale, Hillary lovers, try again...
Third time I have uttered this sentence today on this site: OH, FOR CRYING OUT LOUD.
Name them. Hell, name one. Calling bullexcrement on this. I can recall Night of the Living Dead having the black guy getting shot at the end being a commentary on race issues, but it wasn't racist.
Not even close...
A. He looks nothing like Trump. B. A remake of Child’s Play?!?!?
You can't remake Child's Play anymore than you can remake Casablanca or Gone With the Wind. Or Halloween for that matter.
This Chucky movie has nothing to do with the original creator Don Mancini who has guided the whole franchise until this point. My only advice to the cast and crew of the new movie is Don't F*** With Chucky! They are going to be sorry that they did . . .
“There is only one Chucky’
Yeah, he coached the Raiders and Tampa Bay.
;)
The left is so bankrupt of ideas so they have to resort to this idiocy. It’s their only strategy. “Yeah O.K., maybe unemployment is low but he looks like Chucky!!”
Is anyone here actually going to see this dreck?
So few original ideas anymore. It’s all remakes. Can’t wait for the networks to announce this Fall’s TV lineup to see which shows they will ‘remake’ this year.
Doesn’t look like Trump at all.
Agreed ... though it could pass for most of the on-air personnel at MSNBC.
