The Woodbury fire just outside of Globe, which is about 90 miles away, is creating a whole lot of smoke for us, especially in the evening, so bad can't open windows to cool down the house.

But it is creating some pretty awesome sunsets....

Our pets are so sensitive to thunder and lightening.

Brings back a terrible memory for me.....

Lost my big girl Tina, a German Shepard, who we always let into the house when it stormed, she would go crazy if she couldn’t get in, to a thunder storm.

We weren’t home and a storm hit, she jumped the fence, went into a neighbor’s garage, neighbor didn’t see her when she went to leave, backed over her and she couldn’t be saved.

My dogs always seem to get as close as they can to me. This morning the crawled up on the bed. MSBayBee crawl up on my chest. She likes to lay as close as she can to hear heartbeat. Also was MisTiks place of shelter although now it’s Paul’s lap.
Only in the most severe storms do they crawl under or behind furniture. That’s our signal too that we should take cover.

Sad about Tina. They all depend on us so very much. German Shepard and Collie are my favorite dogs. We had a Sheltie that was found in Louisville we took in with our two cats. It wasn't a problem at all. Andy hid in a closet every Thrusday..garbage day.

I learned to attend auctions where tools are listed. Men go in droves and their MAIN focus is tools. I say this because I had a nod every time a box of books were auctioned. And if its a serious tool crowd..farm area...kitchen items we a nod. I miss those days.

Our pets are much more in tune with nature than we are, have read lots of stories of people paying attention to their pets actions that helped save their life.

Sometimes I wish I had the hearing that they do.

I felt very safe in my home when my husband worked out of town because of my German Shepherd, Dax.

Sitting on the couch reading one evening, the hair on Dax’s back stood up and he started growling a very low grown, slam went the screen door, Dax ran at the door barking, someone was fixing to pay me a visit, someone I probably didn’t know, Dax saved me.

Our border collie, Rascal came and got me more than once when dad was in need of assistance. It was her job and she knew it. “Take care of papa! “

Their instinct are extremely strong. And they do understand what you tell them other than just commands.
