But wouldn’t it be a whole lot easier just to replant the rain forests in Brazil? I guess the other “solution” would be the “vehicle” that Al Capp proposed in his now long gone comic strip Lil’ Abner, that had a big funnel on the front that allowed it to suck up smog and exhaust clean air out the tailpipe. He never did however explain the chemistry involved.
It’s like they’re going to terraform the planet.
Terraform it for who (or what), exactly, is the question.
Mucking with the carbon cycle is not something that should be taken lightly... However, nothing different than what happens with permafrost or other things... Carbon in the decay/matter just gets locked up for thousands of years, until the ground warms eventually and it gets released again...
Trees do lock up carbon, but the bulk of that is done during their rapidly growing phase.. once they slow down growth the carbon absorption drops off significantly.
Starving all those O2 producers huh ? (Secret for plan to reduce people?)
They’ve tried this in the UK. Result: For some stupid reason CO2, which is heavier than air, tends to find a way out of the hole you put it in. More often then not, it finds its way back to the surface through aquifers.
Animals come to the pond, lake, stream, etc to take a drink, start feeling a little woozy, and then bye bye forever. Livestock deaths in the UK due to this boneheaded play were numerous.
