I was the CACO in the navy for awhile. Seeing a dead body stays with you. The smell never goes away. At least he was outside, but it’s still traumatic. It’s not understandable unless you’ve gone through it.

Come on! They were dead! The world doesn’t stop. Assumption of risk-you know?

Of course you are right. But it is still something unusual.

I don't see the issue.

When you go to Everest, you have to take care of yourself and the immediate person or team you are with. If you don't understand that, you shouldn't have been there in the first place.

I personally don't understand why people do this in that type of crazy environment, I photoshopped this image to highlight the absurdity in it.

When I first saw that line, I thought it was a photoshopped joke.

Sooo ... euthanasia is good - people have a right to assisted suicide but we need to stop them from climbing Mount Everest for their own safety?

A few weeks ago, during duties for a new job I just started, we found a dead client in their home. It happens. Had to remind myself that this is the career God led me to and that as all things on this broken world it will never be perfect.

I believe the death for climbing Everest is 7-8%. Much like combat. Anyone who isn’t prepared to see frozen dead bodies isn’t prepared

Those terrible people had some nerve, dying up there and giving him raining day feelings about his trip.

I agree with you. If this a small group “on a quest to reach the top”, yes of course you move on and be one of the ones who makes it. But that picture of the people looking like they are standing in a Soviet Union bread line just makes the whole thing bizarre.

“Wrestling with what that all means”?

Kinda obvious, isn’t it?

May be time to just declare it a cemetery and be done with it.

No money in that, though.

I hear you. 3 years in Funeral Service. Buried a girl I went to high school with. That was weird.

I’m so glad you posted that here. I tried to ‘steal’ it and post it on another thread, but it didn’t work.
