“When I first read Alinskys Rules for Radicals, I was so disgusted by the work I couldnt even dictate it (I was going to create an audiobook for friends, damn any copyright on it)”.
Alinsky may have been a scumbag, but he was undeniably a genius, and his tactics worked. They are winning, and we are not. From where I am sitting, failing to adopt the same strategy as the left is like trying to defeat Nazi Germany with peaceful demonstrations instead of unleashing the hounds of war upon them.
It’s not as if Alinsky invented the tactics.
I was fairly active in the protest scene between 2004 and 2014, and went to several dozen protests and counter protests where I had plenty of opportunity to see the other side close up and personal.
I just don't want to be them. And I don't want to associate with those who use those tactics.
That isn't a statement of animus towards you or people who feel as you do, since your personal experiences may be quite different from my own.
"What will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?" is something that rings true with me. I recognize others may feel differently.

I remember once seeing one of them walking around near us, and she looked like she she was in distress, shuffling like a zombie or someone who had a stroke, and I mentioned it to someone and they said "Yeah, she's a Code Pinko, taking pictures of our license plates to post online..."
Scum.
I also remember going outside on the sidewalk outside a house in DC. Sheehan was supposed to be there and we protested there too.
Heheheh...were you one of the people who were chanting for Gore to get out of Dick Cheney’s house when they refused to vacate after the election???
If so, I do envy you..:)
Unfortunately, I wasn’t. The only time I could go was when we visited our daughter in Haymarket. We lived in Annandale for years but worked moved me below Richmond.
