While I'm no longer a big Apple fanboy...
a lot of us still have Apple equipment, are dependent on Apple Operating Systems, and sometimes do Apple development.
It is clear that Apple is a leader in personal computing, and personal computing is how we access FR, so it behooves us to stay on top of what they're doing.
And for that, the biggest event of the year is the World Wide Developer's Conference, held in San Jose CA, kicking off today. The keynote was fairly newsworthy, especially compared to recent years.
I watched it, and here are the biggest news items for me:
Anything else? For individual products, sure, check the links above. For Kremlin Watchers, Tim Cook's voice was breaking like he was going through puberty, whereas Craig Federighi acted like a man in command.
All in all, it was a good Keynote. I just want Tim "Censorship and pushing the LBGT Agenda is a good thing" Cook out of Apple!
Ping!
Oh wait, I meant the anti-Apple fanatics. Same mental disease...

I miss Steve Jobs. He was a jerk but I miss him just the same. He may have been a lib too but he knew better than to mix politics with business.
And Android is "personal computing".
Just curious (as a developer): What version of the operating system do you run? Or do you not know?
Have you bought any apps? Downloaded even free ones from a store?
(I'm just trying to get a feel for what a "normal" user does or doesn't do on Android...)
The new Mac Pro looks like an oversized cheese grater, and it will only cost you over 10 grand to get one LOL..Ive never had a mac desktop before would like the iMac Pro wonder if they will drop the price now that this one will be coming out soon
So true. I remember Jobs & Woz gladly accepting medals for innovation from Reagan in ‘85. Jobs also accepted an appointment to the White House export council under Bush 41. SJ wasn’t one to try to politicize everything.
That’s kinda like saying the US lost a bit of its luster when Obama became President. He was a world class jerk (based on personal experience) but without Jobs there would be no Apple today.
That's Mac Pro design legacy, going back 15 years!
and it will only cost you over 10 grand to get one LOL..
How do you figure that?!? Right there in the Mac Pro article, it clearly says: "The new Mac Pro starts at $5999 for 8-core, 32GB of RAM, and a 256GB SSD. Available this fall."
Don't you think that being off by 1.67 X is being just a tad inaccurate?

Looks like they are paying homage to the 1st Gen Intel Mac Pro “Cheese-grater”! (A very upgraded 2009/10 Mac Pro is my current machine). Nice to see that it didn’t turn into some modular “stackable” nightmare! Just an updated more traditional shape/size. Nice job by Apple on a pro desktop (finally!!!)

yeah but the new monitor is another 3-4 grand, which looks beautiful but dang so expensive :(
What are the chances Apple drops the price for the iMac Pro
oh and the stand for the 4,999 monitor is another grand, so yeah basically its 10 grand for this thing :-) in total
Mouse support, better multitasking on iPadOS. If there’s mobile phone capability on the iPad...
