I guess I’m the only one here who would be happy to see the movie, despite the gay kiss. I really enjoyed the series, and the characters (especially the Dowager). There is so much trash that masquerades as entertainment/movies these days, that I’m grateful when something halfway decent comes along.

Oh I agree. I never watched the series on tv. I recently, through the encouragement of my daughter, watched the series on Amazon Prime. I have two episodes to go and I dread when it ends I’ve enjoyed it so much. I saw Upstairs/Downstairs long time ago and I enjoyed that too . I’m thinking about getting the series and looking at it again.

The Dowager was the bomb! So many great lines.

Re: I guess I’m the only one here who would be happy to see the movie...

Include me on that list, too.

The first season completely hooked me.

The subsequent seasons got less and less interesting. I think the biggest flaw was that the producers let Julian Fellowes write EVERY episode - 52 in total!

No writer has ever been that good.

By the way, did you know that Maggie Smith - the Dowager - won the Academy Award for Best Actress for “The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie” in 1969?
