Facebook co-founder says Zuckerberg 'not accountable,' calls for government break up

A co-founder of Facebook called for the government to break up the tech giant in an op-ed article Thursday in The New York Times. “The Facebook that exists today is not the Facebook that we founded in 2004,” Chris Hughes, who started Facebook with Mark Zuckerberg in their Harvard dorm, told NBC News after the op-ed was published. “And the one that we have today I think is far too big. It's far too powerful. And most importantly, its CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, is not accountable,” Hughes said of his former business partner.

They broke up Ma Bell years ago and look at all the innovation it spurned.

Waay to powerful an monopoly.

Break up the government or FB?

FB is now in the Enforcement Group of the Ministry of Truth. It promotes leftist thoughts and suppresses normal ones. It should not be broken up. It should be eliminated.

A break-up might even make Zuckerberg richer.

When the Supreme Court ordered the break-up of Standard Oil in May 1911 (into the companies that become Exxon, Chevron, Mobile, Amaco, etc...) John D. Rockefeller saw his wealth triple overnight when shares of each separate company began trading.

One story is - Rockefeller was out golfing with a Catholic priest from near his home on the Hudson River in NY. When he heard the news of the Supreme Court decision, he said to his golfing partner:

“Father Lennon, have you some money?” And the priest was very startled by the question and said, “No.” And then he said, “Why?”

Rockefeller replied, “Buy Standard Oil.”

It’s a social media website. It does not provide the only source of electricity or telephone communication. We could all give up facebook tomorrow and literally nothing would change. Why does the government need to get involved here?

Because social media is being weaponized by the Left to turn our electorate towards socialism. They've figured out the cute little wrinkle that if they outsource censorship to private companies GOPe-types will sit their with there thumb up their ass and say "errr…..gee, they're a private company, we can't get involved".

Sell them the rope to hang us with indeed.

At one time telephones were considered a luxury item for the wealthy.

It has become essential a “common carrier” that selectively denies it service to those it politically disagrees with.

Even Ma Bell never took that step yet the government broke it up.

And it broke up other monopolies such as Standard Oil a century ago.

Zuckerberg’s arrogance is making this possible.

The feds don’t have the express constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited to break up a monopoly imo.
”From the accepted doctrine that the United States is a government of delegated powers, it follows that those not expressly granted, or reasonably to be implied from such as are conferred, are reserved to the states, or to the people. To forestall any suggestion to the contrary, the Tenth Amendment was adopted. The same proposition, otherwise stated, is that powers not granted are prohibited [emphasis added].” —United States v. Butler, 1936.

In fact, in stark contrast to alleged monopoly-breaking power, Clause 8 of Section 8 expressly gives the feds the power to grant temporary monopolies, such protection challengeable in court.

Article I, Section 8, Clause 8: "To promote the Progress of Science and useful Arts, by securing for limited Times to Authors and Inventors the exclusive Right to their respective Writings and Discoveries [emphasis added];"

In my 27 years working for Intel, EVERY employee was trained to understand the implications of Anti-Trust and how one employee mistake could seriously damage Intel.

FB crossed that border back when they used their tools to elect Obama and then support Hillary while selling personal info for monetary and political reasons.

Intel hosted a speech by the then GOP Governor back in I think ‘96, Pete Wilson.
There were protests all over Silicon Valley.
It was the last time Intel was involved openly in Politics
